Ella and Shay struggled against the guys who had them in their grip. Shay was the first to ram her elbow into her captor’s ribcage, breaking free. He doubled over, clutching his side. Without stopping, Shay ran back to the car, leaving Ella behind.

Oh, thanks, Ella thought as she continued to writhe in her abductor’s arms. But the next second, he released her.

Hey, wait! one of the guys shouted when she was halfway down the grassy slope beyond the dense forest. Neither of the girls cared which one of the young men said it, or what he wanted. They just wanted to get the hell out of there. Safely.
