Max Storm became as is, many moons ago, as a young Poet, who needed a title worthy of being remembered. Now, in his senior years, with a lifetime of work experience and world travels, he is semi-retired. Living in the State of Arizona, USA. Being bi-lingual English - Spanish, his endeavors to express emotions, deep feelings and human tragedy by the written word, will continue. When we reach just one... just one soul at a time, and that person shares what is good, honest, and holds an ounce of truth, even in fiction. My work is duly accomplished. Life is not all happiness, joy and laughter. It is tinged with hurt, sorrow and pain. We can only overcome these trials by having faith, hope and the vision to seek the eternal light of truth. To quote Cervantes:“When life itself seems lunatic, who knows where madness lies? Perhaps to be too practical is madness. To surrender dreams — this may be madness. Too much sanity may be madness — and maddest of all: to see life as it is, and not as it should be!”― Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra, Don QuixoteMax Storm

The Power of Love
A Tibetan Tale by MaxStorm
Once upon a time, in the outer reaches of Tibet….. hundreds of years ago…
Dudjom was a mere boy of six, he awoke with a start. It was already a sunny day outdoors that morning in Nepal’s village of the Moon. The village stood atop a ridge, unlike some villages that had developed in the valleys of the Himalayas. There, the huts scattered, none close by to each other.
Dilgoappa!
- Dilgoappa!
- Dilgoappa!
- Dudjom cried out… Where are you?
DILGOAPPA!
HUSH! Jommie --- Hush!
Dilgoappa!
- Dudjom cried out again… Where are you?
DILGOAPPA!
Dudjom… DUDJOM!… His mother exclaimed.
Your father is gone… He left early for the hunt.. He will return before dark… Now… settle down!
He… he was going to take me! He was going to take me… (Jommie replies)
Yes he was… but he told you not yet… you have to be bigger and stronger first!
Remember he told you? It is a long trek where he goes? Remember he told you? Huh?
Yes … mommy.
Remember he told you to eat good and play hard so you could be strong? Yes… mommy.
Well… eat your broth I made you and then you can go out and play… but you wash up first… bring me the wash rag and I will help you… You still need lots of help. Soon you will be doing this all on your own! The difficulties of life in that era, were not readily apparent.
They were a way of life to which the locals were accustomed to. Including the inclement weather with cold vicious winds, snowstorms, and the rumbling of avalanches in the distance. But now, it was different, Spring had arrived, the snows were almost all melted and plants bloomed with renewed life and color.
The stone hut with mud walls, serving as insulation had done little to scare off the winters icy blast, but this was Spring, a time for merriment and work that could not take place less than a month ago.
To Jommie the idea of a hunt was the privilege of going out into the unknown to find food to find a big rabbit maybe a big scary snake or a great big bird and take it down! Kill it and proudly bring it hope to feed the family! It wasn't about being mean to an innocent animal, it was about food, nourishment, sustenance, survival! He had not been taught that, he had learned it from experience of what his father did for the family. It was a way of life; it was the way they lived. They were not farmers and gatherers, although they did have a truck garden, they were hunters, they dried the meat for the harsh winters they scrounged for plants that could be dried and saved not always knowing what was edible or not. It was their way of life.
Insects also provided needed protein, some could be dried and ground up to later include in a broth, or a soup. Other insects also ground up, provided colorful dyes for the Yak wool to be spun for use on the loom to make fabrics.
Water was not scarce and was most useful for personal hygiene and cooking. The stream that was close by was
