About this ebook

Standing Between Stephanie and Her Dream
Is One Hundred Pounds of Lovable Trouble

It should have been so simple for Stephanie Pink: Meet up with Agnes Wharton in a small town in California, retrieve the reclusive author's valuable new manuscript, and be promoted to a full-fledged literary agent.

But Agnes's canine companion, Sweetness, decides to make a break for it before Stephanie can claim her prize. Until Agnes has Sweetness safely back at home in Eagle Cliff, Washington, Stephanie will never set eyes on the manuscript she needs to make her dreams come true.

When Stephanie tracks the runaway mutt to a campground, she meets Rhett Hastings—a man also on the run from a different life and a costly mistake. Rhett agrees to help Stephanie search for the missing dog...thus launching a surprising string of adventures and misadventures.

Once Sweetness gets added to the mix, it's a recipe for love and loss, merriment and mayhem, fun and faith in the backwoods of the Pacific Northwest.

Fetching Sweetness is book two in the Love Unleashed series. I absolutely love this series and couldn't put it down. It will make you laugh, cry, be joyful and most of all love.Things aren't quite going as planned for Stephanie Pink. She has been dropped off in a small town she knows nothing about to get a manuscript from Agnes Wharton. Agnes is a recluse author that wrote an amazing book years ago. She has a verbal commitment to hand over the next book to Stephanie to make her dream of being a literary agent. Well let's just say this is where things go to the dogs when Agnes refuses to hand over the manuscript because her dog sweetness got loose. She tells Stephanie if she returns sweetness to her she will turn over the manuscript. Now she begins a journey of not only self reflection but compassion and God's love. While looking for Sweetness she ends up finding Rhett Hastings at a campground who isn't looking to get involved because he has a plan all mapped out. But Rhett agrees to help Stephanie and everyone's life is turned upside down. God has a plan for all of us but it might not be the plan we think. This book is full of adventure and some very funny scenes. I love the spatula! No spoilers you'll get it when you read this wonderful book.

Title: Fetching Sweetness (Love Unleashed #2)Author: Dana MentinkPages: 224Year: 2016Publisher: Harvest HouseMy rating is 5 stars.Just looking at the cover of the book I thought the dog looked like a real sweetie and the story within is one of the best! One character, Stephanie, is a literary agent trying to get a manuscript deemed a real gem by her boss. What readers learn about Stephanie is her dreams, heartbreaks, faith and hope. Rhett is a man who is plagued by guilt, convinced he is on the direction God has for him and totally sets his feet on a path that has many twists and turns. When he runs into Stephanie and decides to help her out of her problem, life gets really interesting for both of these characters.Readers will enjoy the antics and comedy the dogs provide in the story very well described so readers easily see the funny moments. The heart-touching moments in the book are also revealing and teach us about what really is most important this side of heaven. The last few chapters of the book were really exceptional and I don’t think I will soon forget them. I enjoyed the first book in the series by the author titled, Sit Stay Love, and I hope Dana continues to write novels like these that are filled with faith, hope and love.Disclosure of Material Connection: I received one or more of the products or services mentioned above for free in the hope that I would mention it on my blog. She’s a bookaholic, he’s into movies. Both of them are trying to bring to life other’s dreams. But is that what God really wants for theme? Along the way they acquire a few critters that show them the way to go. That, in a nutshell, is Dana Mentink’s latest slightly quirky, thoroughly sweet romance, Fetching Sweetness. Oh, there is more to the story, but you’ll just have to dive in to find out what scrapes and adventures Stephanie Pink, super associate literary agent and bad boy movie theater mogul Rhett Hastings encounter.Fetching Sweetness is full of big personalities from two-legged characters Stephanie and Rhett to the four-footed, furry characters of Sweetness and Panny. This contemporary romance takes place on the road in a rusting and leaking aged travel trailer. As Stephanie and Rhett travel up the coast of the Pacific Northwest, they learn a lot about each other and themselves. Namely, that man often plans and plans, but it’s God’s path that counts. Both characters have been on the outs with God. Rhett is trying to hear God’s voice, but Stephanie doesn’t want anything do with what God wants. Stephanie believes . . . her plan was better. Unless it wasn’t. (p. 192) Wow, that sounds so familiar to me. The theme of God’s plans vs man’s plans runs throughout the novel. Here are a couple of my favorite quotes:God loved bad men too, sinners one and all. That was comforting. But He worked things out in unexpected ways, and that was not. (p.60). . . just because things don’t go according to plan, that doesn’t mean they’re turning out wrong. (p. 160)I admit that this book started out a bit slow for me, but it really didn’t take long to be captured by the fun and funny, real and relatable characters and of course the cute dogs! Spiritual truths tended to hit me on the head, making me stop and think a bit before continuing.Fetching Sweetness is a good weekend kind of book — when you have some time to relax and spend a few hours reading. How about taking it along on your next road trip!Recommended.Audience: adults.(Thanks to LitFuse and Harvest House for a review copy. All opinions expressed are mine alone.)

Stephanie Pink feels her whole life and career depends on her scoring the new novel of a reclusive writer. Her hopes and dreams depend on this, and she is willing to do most anything to achieve her dream, and that of her deceased brother. When the author demands she find her lost dog Sweetness, Stephanie is hot on the dogs trail, and ends up in a campground where she meets another soul trying to find himself, Rhett Hastings. She soon has Rhett helping in the hysterical capture of Sweetness, and soon has two candidates, which one. This story sure has its escapades to try and get Sweetness to her owner, and in the end they end up with more than they started with. This is also about people who feel God has let them down, and this journey may just be the one that God has orchestrated to bring Him back into their lives. We have a lot of compassion and unknowns here, along with a bit of unforeseen romance, a love of animals, sweet and really wild, and traveling along the Western US coast.I received this book through Litfuse, and was not required to give a positive review.
