Franz Kafka (1883-1924) is without a doubt one of the greatest writers of the 20th century. He is an ambiguous author; his works have led to countless commentaries and interpretations. His texts mainly reflect the alienation of the modern man and the mysterious yet relentless societal powers that govern man’s existence, as well as the futile search for answers in an incomprehensible world.

Kafka, a German-speaking Jew living in Prague, had to settle with mostly writing at night, as he had to spend the day working an office job. His works remained unknown during his life, but gained increasing popularity after his death from tuberculosis in 1924. Amongst them, the most famous works are definitely The Metamorphosis (1915) and The Trial (1925).

    A multi-faceted novel
