Rish Outfield

Rish Outfield is a failed writer, failed actor, and pretty much failed human being. Still, he manages to get up in the morning/afternoon because of you, good sir or ma'am. Someday, he plans to thank you in person.Rish is a fan of Horror films, Eighties music, and the television work of Joss Whedon. He enjoys chasing after frogs, talking about comic book characters, and thinking about the Star Wars Trilogy. He is a voice actor and podcaster, and can be heard co-hosting the Dunesteef Audio Fiction Magazine and That Gets My Goat podcasts, where he and Big Anklevich waste much of their time, hopefully entertainingly. He has been a writer of short stories all of his life, but has only recently begun to share his work with others. He once got a job because of his Sean Connery impersonation, but has lost two due to his Samuel L. Jackson impression.

    Dead Letter

Brendan and Nikki came out of Walmart, each with a bag in their hand. Neither of them had classes on Friday afternoons (Brendan had worked it so he had no classes at all on Fridays this semester), so they pretty much had the day–and the weekend–to themselves. Nikki wanted to get started on her Mod Civ paper, but he was trying to talk her out of it.

They were headed up the canyon this weekend for a picnic (or a picnic, as Brendan liked to think of it, just a nice cover for a lengthy tryst), and had needed a few provisions. Nikki had come with him, though she had apparently not made up her mind as to what the weekend would entail. So far, their relationship had been pretty innocent, a more or less junior high-level romance,
