Trail Days Festival

Sarah is recently divorced and looking to discover herself again. Top of her list is returning to her favorite outdoor activities, put away so that she could play the role of wife and mother. Second is rediscovering how much fun sex could be again. With a weekend free of the kids, she heads on out to a local trail days festival, celebrating thru hikers working their way along a several month journey. Her first order of business is to immerse herself back into the outdoor culture, but she's always got her eye out for someone who might be interested in a little fun off the trail.

A late night soaking in the music and talks from hikers and sponsors leads her to a night she never dared hope to occur, a little self discovery, and to her growing more daring with expressing what she wants in life. A second evening at the festival serves to confirm that in life, sometimes you have to be willing to grab life by the daisy chain.

JC Winchester grew up reading just about anything he could get his hands on, from cereal boxes to the Hardy Boys. He loves most forms of fiction, particularly fantasy and military sci-fi, with some of his favorite authors including John Ringo, Robert Jordan, and Tom Clancy. After several years in the Navy he enrolled in a community college and eventually to a university in the mountains. There he settled down, savoring a life not filled with the noises of the city but instead the sounds of bellowing cattle. When not writing he can usually be found taking care of the horses on his place, riding, hiking, fishing, or the never ending task of splitting firewood.
