Wounded By Christianity - Neteira Anu El
Work
Chapter 1 The legacy of Anu
I will never forget the day I was home sitting in the room on my bed with my mom. We were just relaxing after a hard day of work. The children were in their room and everyone was comfortable. I decided to go downstairs and grab a bite to eat and get something to drink. When I came up the stairs and walked into my room I started feeling funny. This overwhelming sense of happiness fell upon me. It was an uncontrollable feeling of joy and peace. I started smiling so big that my mother asked, what is wrong with you? I looked at her and tried to use my voice to explain but nothing would come out. I thought I was going crazy. I tried again to speak and nothing came out. Finally, words came out and my mother was looking at me like I was weird. I was telling her how happy I was feeling and how good it felt. I said, mom I can’t explain this, she then looked at me and called my name and asked, are you ok? I said yes mom I’m happier than I’ve ever been in my life, I’m feeling the feeling of joy, unspeakable joy, I said. My mom looked at me strange and said I don’t understand what you are saying. You need to calm down she said. I was so excited I tried repeating it again but this time I noticed that the words that were coming out of my mouth were not in English.
I spoke this language that I’d never heard before, it was unexplainable. It was not like the tongue I heard in church but more like an ancient language of another time. I knew this, I can’t tell you how I knew it, but I just knew it. All of a sudden I dropped to my knees from exhaustion. My mother called my uncle who at the time was my Pastor, she explained to him what was going on. He said to my mom, put your phone on speaker phone so I can hear her. This language continued pouring out of me. My uncle then told my mom let her be, let them speak they will stop when they finish delivering the message.
I spoke this language until my mouth was dry, my son had to bring me bottles of water. She would not let me go and finally she showed herself to me. A beautiful dark skinned woman dressed in all white she even had her head dressed in white. She took me to the location of my ancestors, it was by the river side, and they were a beautiful people. She showed me that my ancestors made baskets and they carried water in them as they walked by the riverside. She showed me that during the time of slavery they were a respected people and many were not destroyed by slave masters by hangings or being beaten to death during this era. She allowed me to see women who worked together for the community, she said this is who you are, and these are your people.
I asked her what is your name, who are you? She said my name is Anu.
She shared the history of my people, she revealed their legacy. Things I had not read about. She shared sacred things with me that I could never write about. She revealed certain aspects of herself to me some things I could understand at that time and other things I grew to understand. Anu allowed me to feel our oneness with no separation making us one and the same. She identified herself as energy and power, a source that manifested itself in many life experiences. This is how I came to understand who she was. Anu is me she sits at the beginning of my human creation story.
Chapter 2 Ascending Master
I remember one of the most profound moments of my life. It was the time I sat on the mountain top with my ascending master. I got the message from my spirits to go visit my uncle (my master teacher). They said he had something to give me and I was not to leave until I received it. This message alarmed me. I felt like Jacob, the guy in the bible who tricked his father into believing he was Esau to steal the blessings of his brother. This is the story where Jacob presented himself to his father as if he was his Esau. He did that so his father would give him his brothers blessing. He walked in to see his father bringing dinner as his father had instructed Esau to do. Sure enough his father thought he was Esauand gave Jacob Esau’s blessing. When the son that he intended to bless came to visit him he learned that he had blessed the wrong son.
That’s what that moment felt like to me. Why? My uncle had two of his own children and I didn’t want to take from them. However the spirit was very adamant about me going and doing this. So I made plans to go visit.
Soon after, I received this message I got word that my uncle was sick. He was hospitalized and of course I rushed to see him. My mother and I drove ten hours for a trip that normally takes us twelve hours. When visiting I always stayed at my grandmother’s house and slept in my uncle’s old room there. We arrived there around 9:00pm, once we were settled in I went to his old room and laid down. I wanted to be well rested for the visit with him I’d have in the morning.
As soon as I walked in his room it felt like I walked into a different time zone. It felt like I stepped into the future, it was weird and I really didn’t know what was going on so I just kind of shook it off and laid down. When I closed my eyes I stepped into another time or dimension and I know that sounds crazy but that’s what it felt like. My eyes were closed but things were playing out as if they were real and happening in the future. I saw some of the most gorgeous people fill my grandmother’s yard. In this space I’m still trying to figure out what’s going on. I was laying down and my eyes were still closed but in this vision I was looking out the window. I saw limousines lined up from the driveway all the way down the streets. African drums were playing, the birds and the bees were singing in harmony with the sounds of the drums. The wind blew the trees to the sounds of the beats. The doors opened and the tall dark and handsome men got out, each walked over to the other side of the car and opened the doors for these beautiful women. They stretched out their hands to help them out of the limos. Each of their legs stepped out as they grabbed their hands. It was elegant.
They all were draped in colorful African attire; their heads were covered with exquisite linen and they all were adorned in the finest jewelry. They had beaded shawls draped in diamonds and pearls. Their necks, wrists and ankles were covered in the purest of pure gold. I had never seen gold shine like this before. There were so many of them, theylined the street to my grandmother’s house. They filled the yard, they all just stood and looked at the house without anyone ever knocking on the door, although it looked as if they wanted to. It felt like they were coming to get someone but they decided to just wait until they came out on their own. All of this was happening as the drums played like praise.
As they stood there it felt like they were coming to get a member of their tribe. I remember saying to myself, wow. Whoever they are here to see must be important. They never left and I watched them all night until I feel asleep.
That morning we went to the hospital. My family knows how close my uncle and I were so they gave me a moment with him by myself. He was very frail. I hugged him and then sat on the side of the bed. I said "uncle I was told to come here and tell you that Yahweh sent me. Yahweh said to tell you that you have something for me. I have to tell you uncle I feel a way about telling you this and I told the spirit that I felt a way. The spirit didn’t care how I felt. It told me to come and tell
