The Islands of Dream Speak
()
About this ebook
The Islands of Dream Speak must be the first book to have all the different schools of thought and disciplines coming together under one roof. Reading all the diverse views and theories, and the varied testimonials and insights of those who came to experience the sites, give us a different perspective to the mysterious temples of Malta and will open our understanding to the mystery and the real purpose of the temples that we can tap into their silent wisdom. I feel that experiencing the temples from all these various aspects will open our understanding to the mystery of the temples so we can tap into the real wisdom of the temples.
This ‘compilation’ of words and experiences found in this book is a fascinating ‘jigsaw puzzle’ about the prehistoric temples. It is the witness of something that is beyond ordinary science, as it is the science of the soul. The book is also a testimony of the author’s own journey in understanding the metaphysical and cosmic purpose of the temples.
The book is an interesting, intriguing and insightful written journey into the mysteries of these temples on these islands – the temples of the Stars and the Sun.
Now, it is up to the reader to hear them telling their own story! I ‘let the stones speak,’ as suggested by Sir Temi Zammit, Malta’s leading archaeologist and The Islands of Dream ‘Spoke’ for themselves.
Francis Xavier Aloisio
Francis Xavier Aloisio was born on the island of Malta, but spent more than half of his life abroad, first in Peru as a missionary priest and then in England where he settled after resigning from the Church.Whilst abroad, he realised that not many people knew about the temples of Malta. On his return home, he had a strong urge to find a way to promote the unique wealth of the Maltese prehistoric and historic culture. Firstly he created a collection of paintings depicting Malta’s journey throughout history, and then he started doing his own research on the Temples of Malta and Gozo.He completed a trilogy on the temples of Malta: 'Islands of Dream,' 'The Age of Magic and Wisdom' and 'The New Temple Dreamers.' He also published 'The Maltese Temples in Paintings & Poetry' and 'Malta through the Ages,' 'The Islands of Dream Speak' and 'A Cosmic Perspective to the Maltese Temples' as a self-guide to the sites. He even wrote two autobiographies: 'What a Trip!' and 'Coming to Light!'In 2017, he embarked on writing the script and making a documentary of the Maltese temples: Let the Stones Speak! This documentary is a compilation of all his work and insights about the temples of Malta.Francis directs and consults with people/groups about the experience of the sacred sites found on Malta & Gozo (see: maltatemplejourneys.com), and now together with Christine Auriela, does the same with people who want to visit the Central Coast of California and to connect with the pure Lemurian Energies (lemuriaenergyjourneys.com).Francis started painting late in his life as a way of self-expression. He draws his inspiration from his Maltese background and his experience in South America and England. He is a visionary artist, author, public speaker and spiritual temple consultant.* Please remember to leave a review for my book at your favourite retailer.

Dear Reader, I invite you to accompany me on this journey of researching and experiencing The Temples of Malta. It is a very unique and interesting trip!
I will take you first through my Introduction to let you know why I decided to put together this collection of views, ideas, and experiences of professionals, researchers, reporters, spiritual people, channels and ordinary visitors to these sites.
From there, I will give you a perceptive view of Malta and its energies with a Prelude: Forced landing, the view of a Newcomer. Afterwards, I lead you to my own encounter with the temples through a Baking Initiation. In Chapters 2 & 3, you will read published articles (Hot off the Press), and get to know the outcome of various conferences about the temples in Wider Open Views.
The next seven chapters recount my meeting with various individuals and groups that visited these sacred sites: how the planting of the idea to be involved with the temples came through the First Invitation and Synchronicity led me to meet the right people. Then I had a Baptism of Fire (Network Expansion), followed by dictations through The Envoy and New Consciousness - The Spirit of the Dolphin, and the visit of the Prophets Conference and Powerful Places Guidebooks groups. Then in chapter 11, you will find individual experiences about the temples in Spirit’s Mysterious Ways.
At the back of the book, you will find the Epilogue, Research Sources and an Appendix: Chronology of Excavations and Research of temples; my own observations, and a small bio about me and my published work.
So, now all you need to do is to allow this book to lead you through the fascinating collection of research, articles, views and experiences about these mysterious and unique temples of Malta, Gozo and Comino.

INTRODUCTION
I was born in a country that has a great prehistoric civilisation and a culture that dates back to thousands of years. As I said in my first novel Islands of Dream, it was during my long years abroad that I started to realize and appreciate the history of my culture and the wealth of heritage, which one can find and touch on the small island of Malta.
Many today are being drawn to global places to experience for themselves the inherent ancient sacred energies, and to reconnect with something deep inside. Malta is a special place that offers a haven to satisfy the urge to reach up to higher realms, to celebrate, be thankful and to meditate with the past the present and the future.
Richard Leviton, in his book The Gods in Their Cities, states that ‘ancient peoples were not deluded when they spoke of meeting with their ‘gods’ in certain dedicated sanctuaries atop mountains, in caves, or elsewhere on Earth. Across the planet’s surface are numerous apertures or portals into that supposedly only mythic and therefore unreal realm where the ‘gods’ once (yet still do) resided and which may be accessed by humans today should they wish to. Some of these portals we now term sacred sites, holy places, and pilgrimage destinations.’
The Hindu mystics refer to such places as tirthas, or sacred fords across the ‘river’ from the material to the spiritual world; the ancient Celts knew that the land is dotted with hollow hills and sidhes (palaces) in which the gods still live, awaiting their next moment in our history.
The planet itself is ‘a terrain of light’ surrounded by a complex, many-layered auric or subtle energy shell and the temples were and are ‘structured spaces for and of Light.’ They were and are ‘celestial cities, residences of the gods, and opulent habitations originally reported in all the world’s myths as being the homeland of the gods on the Earth.’
Because of the number of ‘Light Sites’ on the islands of Malta, this landmass must have been a very special place chosen by the gods for a particular purpose in the long history of the world and of human kind.
During my years abroad, I realised that not many people knew about the Temples of Malta. Everybody knew about the Pyramids, Stonehenge, Nasca lines and Machu Picchu, but they drew a blank when it came to Malta’s temples. Yet these temples are far older than the other well-known sites. This pushed me to do my own search on the mysterious ‘prehistoric heritage’ of my country.
After returning home, I began to feel the need and the urge to express myself on canvas and to celebrate the wealth of heritage of my land and my people. So I started to put on canvas Malta’s journey from prehistory to history and contemporary society, and its unique culture in the tapestry of world history. Painting the great heritage of Malta, was to be an overall exhilarating, invigorating and fulfilling experience. I was pleased that finally I had the opportunity to bring it out and to share it with the world by means of my artistic brush.
Meanwhile, I started to buy and read all the books I could find about the temples. During this period of research I was living at the village of Mgarr and it was here where I met the local baker Mario Vassallo, who happened to be a keen researcher of the temples. He was the inspiration for my research and to all the wonderful experiences that I was privileged to have about these incredible sites.
I became conscious that all the books and research available were very much based on archaeological and historical perspective. None answered to my basic questions: Who actually built these majestic structures? Why are there so many sites on these islands? What was their real purpose? What if all the answers that historians and archaeologists have given us up to now were not accurate or truthful enough?
I thought that it would be a great idea to introduce new concepts and theories on the temples through the portal of fiction, as none of the writings gave a spiritual or metaphysical perspective on these mysterious sites. (Metaphysics: a combination of two Greek words: Meta meaning beyond and physics meaning the physical; refers to such concerns that are beyond or transcend the material world). I knew that I would be going against conventional thinking but I felt strongly that there was another explanation to these temples. I tried to find a balanced interpretation of how the temples might be explained.
I believe that certain things cannot be proven by experiment and scientific evidence only as there is an entire reality beyond the scientific one. New methods of research, from Astro-Archaeology, Acoustic-Archaeology, Space-Archaeology and Archaeo-mythology, and especially the new Uranium-Thorium Dating Technique have challenged the conventional outlook about ancient prehistoric monuments. As Graham Hancock says in the Magicians of the Gods, Archaeologists need to modify their theories of the past in the light of the new facts…many sites cannot be explained by the existing model.
It was time to go beyond the obvious!
After some hesitation and doubt, I dared to put on paper an alternative perspective to the temples. And so the first novel: Island of Dreams came to fruition. The intention was to offer an alternative view about the temples to the conventional views of the experts and to encourage people to other points of view and theories. Two other novels followed: The Age of Magic and Wisdom took us to look at humankind’s evolutionary journey on earth and The New Temple Dreamers let us travel to the post-Atlantis period where the temples had a different function and we looked at the celebrations and festivities during that period.
These three novels are not scientific or academic books, yet they are rich in unfolding old mysteries. Mystery means ‘hidden knowledge’ and the stone circles of Malta were and are holding Light-Soul and Sacred Wisdom. Malta was the core of Sacred Science.
Then I dared to publish an Alternative Handbook to the Maltese Temples. It was the first time that a ‘handbook’ was written that gave the readers a cosmic and a metaphysical perspective to Malta’s singular, unique prehistoric stone structures. The handbook was written in the spirit of fostering a thought-provoking dialogue and discussion.
Can I prove all that I stated in my previous three books and in my handbook? Many of the insights found in the novels do not fit into anything that we know. I will leave this task in the hands of the experts, scientists and archaeologists. Let the scientific people or those who are seekers of hard proof and tangible realities, verify what has been stated in these ‘fiction’ books. I will be the first to admit that many of the statements or theories cannot be proven scientifically but I sense that they are true. We all know that deep down there is so much more to the story of our temples that needs to be said.
But, as I said in my first novel Islands of Dream, ‘science is fast catching up with science-fiction.’ Many ideas, theories that we believe and adhere to, and the many ‘facts’ that we have taught at school are simply not true or they do not hold any credence today. People everywhere are beginning to realise this worldwide. Many, though not scientists or archaeologists, feel and sense that ‘it all started here on these islands of Malta.’ Though they cannot really explain it or prove it, they know that it is true. They deeply know that this is no science fiction, but actual knowledge.
Nonetheless, I want to give credit to all the historians, writers, archaeologists and scientists for the work done during the years of excavation, collecting data and writing about the temples.
The Islands of Dream Speak, my fifth book about the temples, is a great orchestration and a unique collection of research, publications, opinions and articles; testimonials of historians, professionals, researchers, writers, reporters, spiritual people and channels, and personal accounts, memories and experiences of ordinary and not so ordinary people about the prehistoric temples of Malta and Gozo.
In a way, the book is also a testimony of my own journey in discovering the temples and my evolution in understanding their metaphysical role and purpose. Here I want to acknowledge all the persons and groups that contributed in making this compilation possible.
The first chapters record the research undertaken through the years on these sites and reports done by various individuals and scholars on the temples and a number of the recent conferences on the Prehistoric Heritage of Malta, some of which I had the privilege to attend. Then follows the many different experiences of those who came to visit the sites; they brought with them their own insights about Malta and the temples. There are also real experiences of individuals or groups of people in connection with the temples of Malta. All these experiences remain in the realm of the spirit, so ‘Happy are they that have eyes to see and seeing, can understand!"
There is so much material, written and otherwise, on these mysterious sites of Malta that I could have compiled three to four books. I had to make a choice which material to incorporate; I did the necessary editing to fit the content in the overall purpose of the book. There is little interference or any interpretation from my part. I left their testimony to speak for itself, even in their original grammatical version. Every now and then, I inserted an ‘author’s observation’ on the particular topic discussed.
It must be the first book to have all the different schools of thought and disciplines coming together under one roof. This compilation of words, opinions, testimonials and experiences is the witness of something that is beyond ordinary science, as it is the science of the soul. I feel that experiencing the temples from all these various aspects will open our understanding to their mystery so we can tap into the real wisdom of the temples.
I enjoyed putting together this big jigsaw puzzle on our prehistoric temples, and I am sure we have not heard the last word on these sites. I let the Islands of Dream Speak for themselves, and tell their own story.
So now, let me take you on this interesting, mysterious, intriguing and insightful journey into the magic of the sacred sites on these islands – the temples of the Stars and the Sun.

PRELUDE
Forced landing - The View of a Newcomer
From my vantage point I see you, readers of this ‘compilation,’ as newcomers to the discovery of Malta and its mysterious temples. Many of you may have never heard of the tiny island of Malta and more so of its prehistoric temples that predate any other free-standing structures in the world. I thought of introducing you gently to the powers of Malta and its temples with a poem by Dr. Maria Grace, who is a newcomer as well. You would get a better feel of this amazing, magical place full of wondrous dichotomy.
Dr. Maria Grace is a psychologist and author and lives in Austin, Texas. She was flying to the USA after an international conference when her plane had to do an emergency landing in Malta. It was a short stay during which she fell in love with the land and the energy here.
She did not know that, on this island, she would be entangled in the red thread that joins 7000 years of human evolution.
She did not know that, on this island, she would find Mother Goddess and Father God, married forever, in a sealed embrace that lasts into eternity. She expressed her love to Malta in these beautiful words.

My Song for Malta
Malta is a moment.
A moment you cannot catch,
for you don’t know whether it’s a moment
from the past that sneaks into the present
to become the future,
or the future that has sunk into a merciless
and bottomless past.
Malta is a moment of innocence
that has insisted on surviving
a violation that has lasted 7,000 years;
It is also a moment of unspeakable betrayal,
where a lie imposed itself on Time,
even though Time still refuses to believe it.
It is the marriage of the most murderous masculine force
with the life-giving divinity of the feminine,
in the name of religion.
Malta is Stillness,
the inevitable sinking of the Rock inside the Water,
it is the island that cannot escape,
to save Herself from Herself.
At the same time, Malta is Motion,
it is the opening, the ongoing flow,
the lightness of the breeze in the evening,
when everybody is walking on the sea front;
A sea front that hugs the island tightly,
like a snake biting its tail.
Malta is a circle that begins where it ends,
it is a dot in the middle of the Mediterranean
and the belly-button on the body of Mother Earth;
It is the holy hole from which we all,
humans, have emerged,
joined in a chorus line that reached the skies.
Hand-in-hand we’ve been dancing now for 7000 years,
a dance that reaches the skies.
Malta is a bosom;
she is tiny woman married to Giant Time,
a male beast she tamed because she let him own her,
and turn her into his slave.
He made her his, relentlessly, mercilessly.
Just like angry men do to women out of fear,
because they know that women have a soul,
while they have only a body.
Malta is a blessing that God dropped right
in the middle of the Mediterranean.
It is a dry interruption in a continuum of water,
such a tiny interruption and such a tiny blessing,
that even the Mediterranean, sometimes, forgets it.
Malta is the island that saved shipwrecked
sailors, apostles and wanderers
like Ulysses, Paul, and myself.
She seduced us, she fed us her sweetness,
she healed us, and she sent us on
to higher ways, to bigger waves.
Malta is a station.
She is one of those stations where you, the sojourner,
get baptised and reborn.
You leave here something that is very much yours,
and you take with you something
that is very much of Malta.
And neither you, nor Malta
know what you have exchanged.
Or rather, if one of the two of you knows,
that is not you. It is certainly Malta.
Maria Grace Ph.D. (Austin – Texas).

CHAPTER 1 - BAKING INITIATION
My encounter with the Temples
In my introduction, I mentioned that I was living in the old village of Mgarr when I started doing serious research on the temples. It was here where I met the local baker Mario Vassallo, who happened to be a keen researcher of the temples.
The passion and the dedication that Mario had for his personal research on the temples of Malta were astounding. During the months of getting to know him, I realised that this person, although an amateur, was really a professional at heart. He might not have the right qualification or the proper job title, but I can truly say that he was more than professional in his research studies about the temples. His approach is ‘hands on’ by ‘taking a closer look into the matter.’ He is an amateur in the true sense of the word. In my first novel Islands of Dream the main protagonist Ranfis says this about this person: Well an amateur is somebody who does something out of love of their art, and because he is also free from the restraints of the academic system, he is more attuned to his gut feeling and intuition, and is sufficiently open-minded enough to accept new theories.
This truly describes Mario - an amateur with a passion and a heart to sell.
According to Mario ‘No work has been done on the metrology of the monuments; neither how the forms were generated nor how the builders could move and assemble the stones.’
It was this David Turnball’s perceptive comment on modern-day understanding of the Maltese Temples that pushed Mario to do his unofficial research, as it underlined the need for more investigation on the way these extraordinary buildings were conceived and planned. Mario embarked on addressing some of these questions. Up to then we were in the hands of the experts, historians and archaeologists. Mario wrote several articles on various subjects concerning the temples of Malta: Winter solstice sunrise, Sunlight main source, The Trilithon Doorway, The Main Doorway, The d/e/h/x Unit, The Stepped Doorway, Temples main passage, The
