I have struggled over the years to find my voice, passion, and purpose. Throughout my struggle, I have come to realize the real battle was my fight with God; the giving over to His will and total reliance on him during my trials and tribulations. As I finally began to submit to His will, He whispered in my ear, Write a book about your fight with Me. As I set out to do that, I heard another whisper about writing a prayer book for single mothers such as myself. My first thoughts were: I am not good enough. I don’t pray hard enough. I’m not the right woman for the job. With an ever-so-slight hesitation, I did it. I did exactly what the whisper said and put out a call to current and past single mothers who relied on prayer to get them through. The product of that call is what you are about to read.

Within these pages, you will find the heart and soul of over 20 single mothers who have encountered collectively every trial and tribulation a single mother could face. These are their prayers and the scriptures they have used to get them through some of the most difficult times in their lives. Whether you are a single mother or not, there is definitely a prayer within the following pages just for you.

Take your time to read each prayer or skip around and find the prayers that speak to you in the moment. Keep this book close for those moments when you just don’t know what to say to God. You can use our words to speak for you. After each prayer is a notebook page for you to write your own thoughts, feelings, or prayer.

My most sincere and heartfelt thank you goes to the women who answered my call and contributed not only to this book, but also to the start of the Single Moms Who Pray Movement.
