    C’mon, Ruth! This game will be fun!

    Jack had assured me of this over and over, like he was some sort of propagandist trying to drill bullshit into my head. Whenever he wanted to do something, he got pouty as hell. His manly good looks turned from that to a toddler’s, and it turned me off a little.

    I sighed, looking up at the ceiling fan. I don’t know, hon. Watching a game isn’t for me. It’s too crowded, it’s the same thing over and over, and I can just read the results the next day.

    But it’s the big game! The Hawks are playing against the Nords. Whoever wins this is up for the finals. This is our only chance to see the Hawks close by!

    Hoo boy. He wasn’t going to say no, was he? That was a man for you. Too clingy to go by himself, yet too assertive if I didn’t want to go.
