To the reader,
Dear reader, I hope that you enjoy reading this book.
Growing up I always loved Superheroes like Superman, Batman
and Spiderman. I would draw them over and over again, I thought
I was going to be a comic book artist. Who knew 20 years later
I would get an idea to write a book about a superhero.
I had a major loss in my family, my grandpa passed away.
After his passing I found myself with a new passion for writing.
Maybe he’s up there beyond the stars now looking down and
speaking to me saying Ryan write some stories with that crazy
Imagination of yours!
So I did, and this is what I wrote My Superhero Project which would
later be changed to The Superhero Project. I hope you enjoy reading it
as much as I did writing it…..and so without any further ado I present
to you Ryan Hoke’s, The Superhero Project!
I dedicate
this to, my Grandpa Hok, the greatest grandpa ever, all my friends, family and kids!
All my English teachers especially Ms. Williams at Terra Cotta Middle School that somehow got me to pay attention. Also a special thanks to you, the readers!

PROLOGUE
Face down in the street, my body beat up,
blood dripping from my face onto the wet cobblestones
beanith me, In what is usually the busiest intersection of the city,
Feeling alone with nobody around to help me.
You’re probably wondering how did I end up like this,
let me take you back….
It all started on my 8th birthday at my grandmas house
where I lived, when my uncle gifted me
a fantastic birthday present that I will never forget to this day.
My uncle always felt bad for me since
I didn’t have a mom or dad and he felt it was his responsibility
to make me happy and take care of me.
The gift was awesome, it was my first ever comic book,
The new X-men #1 the first ever printing. I read from page to page
I was hooked, I had become fascinated by
all those powers and abilities.
Defeating bad guys and protecting the innocent.
I wanted so desperately to be a hero like them.
I started collecting and reading comic books everyday.
I was obsessed I couldn’t get enough, Spiderman with
the web shooters, I’ll never forget when he got the
black suit or when he fought
Venom in #375 and then Wolverine in #1
Superman, Batman I watched all there movies.
I remember when my friend in class showed me the first
apperance of Archangel in x-factor #24
Under his desk when the teacher wasn’t looking.
Conan, Ninja Turtles, Hulk, Wolverine, Punisher, and Spawn!
And how bout Deadpool that guys great right!
I had some nerdy comic book friends but I also liked
playing sports so I had to juggle
between my nerd friends and my jock friends.
I always pictured me as a strong physical Superhero
so I played sports to strengthen my
muscles, boost my speed and attune my abilities.
A superhero has to be physically fit that is unless your
like Xzavior Daniels aka professor X.
I played on the schools baseball and football team.
I wasn’t the greatest but I wasnt that shabby either.
No matter how fun sports got my real passion was
Superheros, that was one thing I knew for sure!
When my family got together they would always
ask me, Mike…what are you going to be
when you grow up?
I would turned to them and with a serious look
I would say what i would always say….
Me, I’m going to be a superhero when I grow up.
They would laugh so hard, laugh and laugh and laugh.
My cousin would say, that’s impossible, that’s only in fairytales.
hmft, you just wait
