Foreword

Developing my psychic sense had always been a bit of a struggle. Until I met Lorna Hedges, I did not feel overly confident.

Meeting her was pure serendipity. I had asked the universe for a new teacher who understood exactly my concerns and fears in developing my connection to the Spirit world and who was kind and caring.

Meeting Lorna was not only supportive to my spiritual growth, but she also became a great friend. As she opened her door that first morning in October 2015, I saw this small 4'10' woman with a huge smile and a boisterous dog called Merlin. She brought mediumship and connection to the Spirit world to me in a down-to-earth and humorous way. She took the Hollywood glamour out of it and showed me that anyone can connect with their non-physical helpers and friends.

In this, her debut novel, 'From Housewife to Psychic', she shares the humble beginnings of someone who was destined to become a popular and accurate psychic medium and teacher. She makes me laugh in person and also on the page as I followed her journey from absolute novice to the fledgling steps of doing her first professional reading.

What goes on behind the scenes of an ordinary woman who has a deep connection to Spirit is both entertaining and enlightening. It takes the spookiness out of what television may lead us to believe is a scary world.

I love Lorna's way of bringing the ordinary into sharing her skills and teaching others. To her it's as ordinary as breathing; to her, Spirit is only in the next room and nothing to be scared of.

Many people find psychic mediumship an absolutely fascinating subject and I am no different, but Lorna enables people to use their own intuitive connections and to expand their abilities in their own unique ways, which can help them develop as mediums and as decent human beings.

A connection with the Spirit world at the higher level that Lorna teaches enables growth in many aspects of life, not just the psychic.

Since meeting her I have written my second book, started to overcome a fear of public speaking and I am now moving forward to support others in remembering who they are. This is all down to the way Lorna encourages and supports her students and those who come to see her for readings and healings.

Introduction

It can happen to you. It certainly turned out to be that way for me.

At that time I had no idea that my life was going to turn around, and that nothing would ever be the same again.

Someone came up to me and said, 'You are a medium'.

My reply to that was, 'Yeah right'.

I didn't know what to do with this information. For me it was life changing. I didn't know if I should just ignore it and store it away in case it wasn't true, or if I should shout it from the rooftops.

Maybe it would be better to keep it hidden away for the rest of my life so as not to be ridiculed. But this was not going to happen, because when Spirit has come along to help you fulfil your life's purpose, then all I can say is, 'Look out'.

It's no mean feat to one day think that you're just an ordinary mum and grandmother with a way of life like everyone else, and then be made aware that in addition to that, you are something unique. The point of fact is that we are all just being pushed along with the rest of the minions and taking orders from those in high places, or just going along with what we term the norm.

I'm not saying all of this because I have an inflated ego, or because I think I'm better than anyone else. I'm saying it because there is so much more out there that we don't know, and that if we only opened our minds and hearts to the invisible power of love, it would change the way the world and human life continue to exist.

Just hearing this information blew me away.

Although I had been given this advice, what the heck was I going to do with it? I knew nothing of the Spirit world. I was blind to the world of the unknown. All I knew about was religion, which was plain and simple, plus all the scary stuff of ghosts and ghouls.

There was just something I couldn't put my finger on. I went to church as a young girl, and goodness me they did scare me. I had to be a good girl or the wrath of God would descend upon me. So I learned. It was an experience and some may say that it's the best thing since sliced bread, because churches can be a hub, a real community.

I went to church to find what I was looking for. My husband was quite religious, and to an extent so was I. I fully believed in God, and Jesus was my saviour, but there was nothing magical or mystical in what was said that made any sense to me. I'm not here to judge any religion. They do as they see fit, their agenda is control.

And then it began; the constant reading of any and every spiritual book that I could get my hands on. This completely changed the way I viewed God. My belief was becoming so much stronger that I started to trust, and my faith was restored in my own humdrum life, and I'm not talking about family. My family has been my liberation, my shining light. No, this was the need to find a purpose in something that was unseen, the magical, the mystical, the love from Spirit. This was to be my path; this was going to empower me.

There was so much to do, so much I needed to learn. It was obvious from the start, when I looked back through my childhood, that all I had seen in the normally unseen world of Spirit was coming back to hit me smack in the face.

Now today, I have the amazing privilege of working alongside Angels and Ascended Masters. I hardly know when it all began because it's been such a whirlwind ride on this spiritual rollercoaster. There's not a day goes by that I'm not humbled by the mere touch of Spirit's love. Sometimes I can't get my head around the fact that in the past I was not the most sensible person. I used to have temper tantrums. I had no patience and my acid tongue ruled my heart.

So what opened me to the Spirit world after such a long time trying to shut it
