No Fraternizing: Part 1

About this ebook
For 4 years, Lila Moore has lusted after barbershop owner Manny Perez, longing for the day when he’d give into his desires and give her the best sex she believes she deserves. From the first day they met, their sexual attraction to one another has been magnetic.
As Kuts Kings first and only female barber, Lila has to hold her own and be one of the guys to fit in. But she worries her down-to-earth personality may be what’s keeping Manny from finally making the first move.
But that’s not the only thing keeping them apart.
On Lila’s first day working at Kuts Kings, Manny quickly established a “no fraternizing” rule that prohibited any sexual relationships from happening between the barbers and Lila, including himself. Instead of this ending any attraction Lila had for Manny, those two little words only intensified her feelings for him. She also suspected the rule was more for Manny than anyone else, and she might be right.
But this doesn’t stop her from trying to get Manny to break his own rule. Her consistency will pay off but not without a bump in the road.
To her surprise, Lila discovers Manny hasn’t been completely honest with her and has been keeping a little secret. But there’s no turning back. Both Lila and Manny will have to decide if they should honor the rule or take their work relationship to another level.
Brookelyn Mosley
Brookelyn wrote her first short story when she was a sophomore in high school. Back then she discovered how using her experience as a teen living in Brooklyn to create romantic shorts was just as exciting to her as retail shopping and going on dates. After starting her first semester of college two years later, Brookelyn's creative writing became more of a hobby and something to do to escape the stress of midterms and finals. Now in her 30s as a freelance writer, penning short stories and novellas is her everything. While her experience with writing has evolved for the better, her undying love for creating fiction remains unchanged. When she's not freelancing, doing yoga, or showing her husband and toddler lots of love, she can be found sitting at her computer desk, with her legs folded, and a cup of coffee (or a glass of wine) in one hand as she types or edits her latest sexy short or novella.

Chapter 1
It’s an early Friday morning and the sun is just starting to peek out past the clouds. The weather man says it’s going to be one of the warmest summer days in July and Lila’s dewy skin shows this as she walks down Brooklyn blocks.
Out-of-school kids are already outside sipping on sugary blue drinks, jumping rope, or sitting at the curb waiting for the ice cream truck to turn onto their block blasting that familiar tune. Lila strides past them on her way to work, scooping her thick brown hair into a bun so the sweat on her neck can dry. She lives about a mile away from the shop she works at and always walks there to make up for not going to the gym as often as she would like.
Lila is a barber at a little hole-in-the-wall barbershop called Kuts Kings. As the only female barber, she is often subjected to typical chauvinist conversations where her female perspective is always beckoned but still outnumbered and overruled. Talks about bra sizes and guesstimated fellatio skills whenever a female walked through the doors of the shop was done as casually as talks about the final scores of basketball games. While other women found some of the discussions in the shop appalling, Lila’s no-nonsense attitude and her own unfiltered commentary made her seem like one of the guys.
She loves her job. Her eyes blink open sometimes an hour before her alarm clock goes off and she’d hop out of bed with a smile pulling at her lips, eager to take on the day. She loves it even more because every day she gets to lock eyes and share the same space with the shop’s owner and head barber. His name is Emmanuel but everyone calls him Manny and he is all man and the only thing missing in Lila’s life.
Manny is exactly the type of guy Lila always falls for. The type that guest stars in her fantasies or whenever she closes her eyes to play with the pink pearl between her soft thighs at night. Tall, Puerto Rican with dark bedroom eyes and hands large enough to lift her up with ease. But it’s his deep baritone voice wrapped in his thick Spanish accent that keeps her up past midnight, feigning to have him whisper nasty things into her ear.
It all started when Lila sauntered into Kuts Kings almost three years ago in the middle of what was considered Brooklyn’s coldest winters. She was inquiring about a Barber Wanted
ad on Craigslist and nearly swallowed her tongue when she first laid eyes on Manny, his walk commanding all of her attention.
Lila was immediately impressed with the shop’s setup. She took notice of the overly extravagant champagne-colored chandelier hanging in the center of the shop and the faux-marble that covered the counter tops of every barber booth. There was one large mirror that stretched over the booth counters from one end of the shop to the other. At each barber station, the mirrors had
