About this ebook

How often do you imagine yourself as a person who achieved perfection? Have you formed in your mind an image of yourself, healthy and beautiful, professionally developed, having wonderful relations with close people and the surrounding world?

To be honest, I haven’t heard a better answer to the question "How to motivate yourself?" than the answer (yes, a bit vulgar): “No way man, stay in the whole mess of trouble!"

And, people who are passionate by nature, never think of motivation. Most of them already work a lot because the job is the most sensible way of investing their vibrant energy. And what about those who were not born passionate? Or those who have dreams but don’t have enough power to achieve their goals?

Be realistic in your desires (you’ll scarcely manage to win the Olympics if you started engaging in sports in your 40ies), but dream bravely, imagining your path to the goal and perfection in the brightest colors. As Brian Tracy says,

"All successful people men and women are big dreamers. They imagine what their future could be, ideal in every respect, and then they work every day toward their distant vision, that goal or purpose."

Have you ever had periods, when everything went swimmingly? When you become inspired and the whole Universe seemed to help you? Like you were picked up by a caring, tender wave flow, which carried you to the desired results? People came ready to solve your problems, and obstacles stayed just for a while and then disappeared step by step without any help... is such an experience familiar to you?

And maybe you’ve experienced this: you set a goal, then start desperately (and sometimes even painfully) move to it... a great spurt, then the motivation and energy loss. But you pull yourself together, make another spurt, and another, and another, until you finally reach the desired goal, and then... you just fall from the enormous fatigue and recover for a long, very long time.

Goal Setting & Personality Psychology - Kitty Corner

    Author

    Chapter 1

    Introduction:

    What You Should Stop Doing

    To Achieve Perfection and

Find Your Path to the Dream

How often do you imagine yourself as a person who achieved perfection? Have you formed an image of yourself, healthy and beautiful, professionally developed, and having harmonious relations with close people and the surrounding world?

Personal development is a continuous process, so each goal achieved becomes the starting point for new, more fabulous ideas.

If you have ever wondered what person you would like to be at this point in life, find some time to work on it. Imagine that you've received a high-quality upgrade in all areas - your appearance, profession, family, and describe your improved image in detail on paper. Describe your character, physical condition, the way you spend your day, people surrounding you - everything to the smallest detail.

BE REALISTIC IN YOUR desires (you’ll scarcely manage to win the Olympics if you started engaging in sports in your 40ies), but dream bravely, imagining your path to the goal and perfection in the brightest colors. As Brian Tracy says,

All successful people, men, and women are big dreamers. They imagine what their future could be, ideal in every respect, and then they work every day toward their distant vision, that goal or purpose.

Your task in this exercise is to set a very high bar and to decide who you can become while working on yourself. Once you have created your perfect image in your mind, you'll set a vector of development which will guide you further.

Now, compare two images: the desired one and the one you have now. Perhaps, in some areas of life, you're already close to your dream, and in others, on the contrary, you are very far from it. Write down the significant discrepancies for yourself. Now you have the guidance. Let's start working on the changes. As people say, the road to the dream begins with one step.

Today I’ll tell you about many important factors and principles of personal development. With them, your way of the dream will be faster and faster day by day.

    EXAMPLE:

The central principle of proper nutrition and the first step in shifting to a healthy lifestyle: determine which products do you no right, and stop taking them. To improve your health significantly, first, it is necessary to remove all harmful food. And only after this, you can introduce more high-quality food into your diet. 90% of success in the health improvement is just this first step because we can eat loads of germinated seeds, spinach, berries, and celery, but if we continue consuming roasted meat and pastry, the effect from adding useful products will be minimal. Most often, we suffer more from the things we do that from the things we don't do. For example, a woman engaging in sports to exhaustion often overeats, looks, and feels worse than the one who does not do regular exercises but does not eat.

The list of things you need to stop doing is no less important than the list of items necessary to be done!
