INTRODUCTION
It’s a pretty bold claim to make as a book title and a lot to promise and some might be tempted to think this guy is smoking his socks but I kid you not. This is the little book on ‘How to get promoted in less than three months’.
In the 21st Century, just about everything has a manual that comes with it. But if you’re like an average Jim, you will throw the manual away and try to connect all the wires and cables without supervision. Well it might work for Jim, especially if he just bought a brand new fancy gadget. He might feel the manual will get in his way and decide to go it alone.
Yet there are some things in life that need the user to make sure he/she has read and understood the manual. Unfortunately, life is a vast ocean of activity and if we could write all the ‘how to’ books about everything from tying shoe laces to building a death ray google wouldn’t be able to house it all.
Thankfully, the work industry is one of the major subjects in the ‘how to’ world. The aim in writing this book is to provide you with a part manual for the work place. And just like every manual, I have kept it short and precise, with one goal in mind: your promotion.
The idea behind a manual is mainly to give the user a guided path towards achieving the greatest return from the gadget they just purchased. It’s a way of making sure Jim doesn’t blow up his new stereo in the process! The concept is pretty easy to understand when it pertains to every day house items. But is it ok to actually build a manual about how to succeed in the work place? Is it guaranteed to work for any employee? And if it doesn’t work, can I take it back to the store?
The reason why I believe the following pages carry what you need to know and practice in order to make the promotion list in as little as 3 months is that there’s no way it cannot work. It’s just that simple.
One of the keys to the 21st Century is to understand that this is an information age and in order to outperform competition we have to take some time to research and study writings, articles and blogs that hand out information on whatever we need to know. A lot of research has been done out there and it’s enough to allow us to tap into information that will aid us in whatever endeavor of life we pursue. I say this because the work place is made up of a social construct that has a way of operation. I believe that if you know how the social construct works within your office, you will be on your way to success in that field of work.
HUMAN BEINGS ARE EASY
Let me explain that subtitle. You see people are mostly bound by principles. And in order to get the best out of them, you follow the principles. Sometimes they will burn you, but most of the time they will respond in a manner that is highly predictable. If your boss is not a Martian or a cyborg from the fourth dimension then your boss (no matter how much of a pain in
