I sink to my knees, dizzy with want and into his arms.
I kiss him. “What the hell are you doing to me?” I whisper.
“Loving you Beauty.”

“So you saying I can’t hold my own?”
“You don’t have to. You win. Game over.” I tilt her head up with two fingers on her chin to kiss her lips. “Although It’s not like you ever had any competition.” I smile into another kiss.
“Yeah I forgot you were all virginal and stuff when we met.” She rolls her eyes and kisses me back.
“Now, I never said that.”
“That explains the neon sign above your bed that says 8 billion served.” She giggles at me.
I sigh at her. “Not 8 billion... God woman what do you think of me. It’s more like 12 billion.”

He stops playing unexpectedly and I’m left breathless. He knows I’m there. It’s like the demon’s head on his back has been watching at me the whole time.
He’s known all along...
“Come here,” Riggs says and extends his arm and hand outward, without turning to look at me and I walk around the couch and toward him.
Looking up at me from the couch, Riggs’ face is expressionless and his dark eyes are blank. For the first time since we met, I can’t read him at all. Is he happy or angry, sad or content?
“Riggs...”I say thinking maybe he is mad that I was watching after all.
“Stop talking,” he tells me with an even tone that I can read even less than his face. Leaning his guitar against the side of the couch, he scoots back, opens his legs and nods toward the spot between them. “Sit,” It’s a command. He’s not asking, he’s telling. And I do as I’m told and sit between his legs, pressing my back against his bare chest.
The heat of Riggs’ body against mine immediately sends tingles through my middle and I can’t imagine he doesn’t feel the same with my ass pressed so firmly to his groin and soon enough I feel him hardening and pressing against my backside. Still, all he does is lower his face to my ear and whisper. “That color is exquisite on you. I knew it would be. You’re perfect Beauty.”
When I turn my head to say something, he hushes me with a tender kiss before I can open my mouth. “No talking,” he says and lifts the guitar and lays it across both of our laps and tells me. “Just listen.”
A second later he is playing, his fingers strumming and his hand massaging the fret board, slowly at first. The tune is new, I don’t know it. It’s melodic more so than most of his songs, but still carries the hard edge that is all Riggs. I watch his hands, fascinated by the agility, swiftness and utter confidence of his fingers and remember how magical those fingers feel on my body.
