She was in the end stage kidney failure and received a live kidney transplant from her sister. Afterward, she had gone to have three experienced pregnancy with miscarriage, stillbirth and prematurity. It is based on some theory and 12 years of data collections about the condition of the kidney transplant mother before pregnancy, during pregnancy and after giving birth including the development and growth of her premature baby. This book would be useful for the kidney transplant woman who wants to have a baby, medical staffs and people who interest in kidney transplant.

Introduction

When I was pregnant as a kidney transplant mother, I try to research and find out information about the pregnancy and kidney transplant mother. Unfortunately, I found nothing much and nothing is answer my questions. After I lost my first pregnancy, I have no concerned because I had been reassured it is common for general woman.

However, when I lost the second pregnancy with stillbirth at 23 weeks and 5 days, I know it is not common anymore. I started to find out more about my immunisation medicine that I took during my pregnancy, what are they affect to the baby in the womb, how damage of my kidney transplant during pregnancy and outcome of the baby after birth. Again, I was disappointed and nobody can answer those questions.

With my third pregnancy, I started to keep records of documents, keep close eyes on my health, my kidney transplant and my pregnancy. As we have known, only one kidney transplant has to work for myself and for the baby inside my womb. It has to work harder for two people than only one. The bigger the baby, the harder it works.

The delivery time is set when the health of the kidney transplant alarm with the high blood pressure, which could damage her internal organ and lost her transplant kidney function forever. Therefore, it would be on the safe side to deliver the baby while the health of the kidney transplant mother still has no too much harm done. It is in the win-win situation.

Although the baby was born premature, the consultants and doctors would make sure it can survive with the help of the premature baby unit, SCABU and NICU. At the beginning the premature baby would look so small compared to the full term baby. However, by the time when they are two years old, they would look the same and could not see the difference between them.

I hope this book will shed some light to the kidney transplant women who wish to have her own baby to prepare her mind and her body. To learn from my experience about what process she will go through and what is the outcome could be happening. I wish I had this book when I started my family and got pregnant.
