About this ebook

Courage, the story about the pig, the duck and her babies centers on courage and encouragement. Animal stories are used to teach young people basic life principles. The real meaning of some of these principles may be too hard for them to grasp.

The duck and the pig are great friends but the pig has a problem. She cannot swim. The duck decides to teach the pig how to swim at no cost. At a point, the pig begins to suspect the duck of trying to take her life. The duck does not take it personally but she continues to encourage the pig until she masters the art of the game. Above all, the duck did not remind the pig of the accusation that she wants to kill her. She simply said, 'What are friends for but to forgive, to encourage and to love.

A very fat pig is lying in the mud while a duck and her kids are going to the sea

    Pig

    Big duck, what’s up?

    Duck

Good, one sec at a time. One second at a time.

    Pig

Great philosophy, mmmmmm. All of us develop awesome philosophies only to drop them in the trash can and drift with the common notion.

    Duck

Such common notion is not always right but that’s not for me and not for my people. The road that everyone takes is often the wrong one.

    Pig

    Who said so?

    Duck

I found out many years ago and science tends to agree with it. Everyone can carve his or her own niche. And you’re more comfortable when you walk the bridge you built or a bridge you helped to establish.

    Pig

We’ll come back to that in the future. Huge thoughts and long words make my head swim.

    Duck

If I may remind you, the future is not yours to keep.

    Pig

Mmmmmmm, another good one. What did you take this morning?

    Duck

    Why?

    Pig

Whatever it was, its main ingredient is inspiration.

    Duck

No, no. Inspiration comes from years of experience mixed with some elements of equanimity.

    Pig

(The pig did not want to ask for the meaning of the big word and was in a hurry to change the topic.)

Could I ask you a question, please?

    Duck

Sure, you can always can. A question about …?

    Pig

    I wonder how you manage
