    Dedication

    To my beloved.Graybill

My legs were screaming and my back was starting to go into spasms. But I knew if I moved I'd face death. I had to hold this curtsey or die trying.

The room smelled like the impersonal cold hard marble floor I was standing on. Even though I could hear a fire crackling and sputter in the smallest Audience Chamber in the castle, it was icy cold.

The very worst would be if I fell over and Gwen didn't. There was no way my sister would win this competition. She's a wonderful sister. She has deep blue eyes like mine, but has thick, dark red hair that she wears loose; she's slender and at five foot eight inches tall for a woman, has healing power and loved her plants. You noticed Gwen when she entered a room.

I have long blonde hair that I braid every morning to keep out of my face, with a small nose over full lips but only five foot four. My figure is a little on the full side. I paint, love to sing and see auras.

Your majesty, Artist Sofia Jaffrey is here as you requested. The court Jester, Jason called to me. I heard the bells on his costume jingling.

I dug my thumbnail into my index finger to keep myself from laughing.

I often wonder what he looks like.

Jason, my beloved, wouldn't show me his Jester's uniform. Was it a red costume with gold bells? Or blue with silver? Did he juggle and do tumbling? He played the guitar and had a lovely voice. I know he trained hard for a solid six months
