About this ebook

The much anticipated sequel to His Hail Mary and part II of the series A Band of Saviors, Hear My Prayer picks up where His Hail Mary left off, Chan alone in a dark room with her abductor. Has she been taken because Kase's sister has finally gotten away from her own abductor, a homicidal dictator who has sworn to stop at nothing until he has Tessa back, or is it someone else?
Will Kase be able to save Chan in time unlike his sister so many years ago? Will he have to make the ultimate choice between his sister and his wife?
Old friendships will be tested and new alliances formed as the Farrell family races against the clock to rescue Chan. Not everyone we met in the first book will live to see tomorrow especially when world leaders, crazy exes, and an international kidnapping ring target your family.
Hear My Prayer is full of heat and passion, it is dark and suspenseful, with Chan's strong personality and wit bringing just enough light to the darkest of moments. The twists and turns are designed to keep the reader on the edge of their seat and surprised until the very end.
Kase is the ultimate alpha male, but in Hear My Prayer the audience gets a better look at Nicoli Bianchi, the hero in part III, Her Savior, and he is seriously one scary, sexy man (more about him later....)
Hear My Prayer is for mature audiences, 18+, it is a dark romance with HEA. Told from dual POV, part of a series, read His Hail Mary first. I am a married mother of two teenage boys / men and two fur-babies who coach me through my lazy days and convince me constantly not to throw the printer. (If you've read anything I've ever commented on, the printer hates me.)I recently left upper management in corporate American to pursue my dream of writing books, something I've wanted to do for years, and to stay home with my boys before they are grown and gone.I am loving what I do for the first time in years, everyday I can't wait to get started, the stories are screaming to get out and desperately want to be heard. I hope people enjoy my stories enough to tell others, that is my most sincerest hope and desire.

Where we left off in His Hail Mary, A Band of Saviors Part I….

    Channel, Hear My Prayer

    Psalm 22:19

But you, O LORD, be not far off; O my Strength, come quickly to help me.

I notice three things all at once. I’m cold. I have cottonmouth unlike any hit off of a bong could ever cause. I’m sore everywhere, especially my neck and head.

Then I notice that I’m sitting in a metal chair with my hands tied behind me. I have a leg tied to each leg of the chair, a rope around my waist, I’m gagged and blindfolded. Finally my only clothing appears to be my bra and panties. My t-shirt and shorts are gone.

I try not to hyperventilate as the memories begin to flood back to me, taking deep breaths in and out of my nose. Why did Shawn do this? What did I do to deserve this? Was this really Tom? Shawn was his lackey, or was it like Kase feared and a girl for a girl? Did whoever held his sister take me to replace her after she had gotten away? Was Vinnie ok? How long had I been out, where was I? I started testing the ropes that have secured me. They are well done, I’m not going anywhere.

Suddenly I feel a presence, someone behind me. I flinch as they begin running their fingers through my hair, securing it on top of my head. They want it out of the way, I begin to cry, I can’t help it, I’m scared. Shhh….if you don’t calm down I’ll knock you out and do much, much worse. A voice whispers in my ear. Breathe in and out, in and out….good…now I’m taking the gag off, no talking, no questions or it goes back on. Screaming does no good, no one can hear you. You’re miles from anyone or anywhere. But don’t worry; I’ll let you scream eventually, if that’s what you want to do. But not yet, the longer you behave, the longer I’m nicer. Nod your head if you understand, the voice says. I’m almost to the point of passing out so I nod my head, thankful when the gag comes off and I’m able to take a few deep breaths for the first time since I woke up.

Remember, no words or it goes back on, the voice whispers. Not even a whimper or I’ll use my knife instead. The man has moved around in front of me and is tracing my face and neck. His hands begin to slowly glide down my arms and back up before descending again against my ribs only to come back up over my stomach and breasts. He brings his hands down again this time pulling the cups of my bra down with his hands causing me to whimper and attempt to jerk away from him.

I said no noise. He whispers calmly before grabbing each nipple and twisting them painfully. Sit still, sit quiet. Last warning. This time I hear the switch of a blade and then he pulls the flat side of it between my breasts before he cuts my bra causing them to bounce briefly as they are freed of their restraints.

His hands once again begin to descend down my stomach, the knife put away at least for the moment. I feel his breath against my nipple and then the flicker of his tongue before he begins to suckle my breast. It takes everything in me to be quiet.

His hands stop at the junction of my thighs, his thumbs playing with the elastic of my panties, before pulling them aside. I can feel him look at my most intimate parts; I’m humiliated, scared, and angry. He runs a finger down my folds before saying. Dry. I guess this isn’t your thing. Shame. I like it a bit dark, always hoped you would too. Its ok, Channel, I used to be able to make you wet, I can do it again. You’re not some virginal miss nowadays, so it’s a free for all as far as I’m concerned, the voice says, as he runs his hands up my body one more time, stopping as he gets to my hair where he grabs handfuls in each hand tipping my head back and begins to nuzzle my neck and licking my earlobe.

Tell me Chan, you want to know whose going to make you wet? Whose name you’re going to be calling with that little whore mouth of yours when I’m fucking you in the ass? All I want to do is puke, I know who this is. I know his smell. Oh God.

I nod my head. Please don’t let it be true.

After I’m done with you, I know just where to send you, he says as he bites down on my neck at the same time releasing the blindfold.

The room is dark except for the spotlight shining down on me. It takes several blinks of my eyes before I’m used to the light and even then I can only see short spiked dark hair as he’s still licking my neck and ears. I feel my panic rising. I know I’m right, I begin to shake everywhere. Then he raises his head and I am met with cold chocolate brown eyes staring down at me. Eyes of the man I once loved.

Xavier….what have you done? I croak out.

He just smirks at me before saying, Mistake Chan, I told you not to talk. You really need to learn how to listen.

That’s the last thing I hear before the world goes dark again. Oh God please help me!

    Chapter 1

    Kase

I know I’m not supposed to get my hopes all up and say that without a doubt this is my sister; Chan is right after all, someone can scam me I guess. So, I’ll peel off 1% to doubt, but that’s it, that’s how sure I am that this is Tessa in my arms. No one, and I do mean no one knew about our pet names outside of immediate family, we never even told police officers, one it wasn’t important and two, it was just ‘ours’.

    This is Tessa.

I’m here Tessa, I’ve got you now. You are safe; you’ve got to believe me. I tell her. The man you met when you got here, he’s a powerful man, and he’s pulled out all the stops, I don’t think an invading army could get to you right now. I rush on to reassure her.

Tessa pulls back from our embrace and just stares up at me before tracing my face with her hands. Oh my God Kase you’ve changed! I mean I knew you had to grow up, but you are so big! There’s not a trace of my little brother left anywhere. Except your eyes, they’re still there, but that’s it, no baby fat cheeks to pinch, your hair is long, the feathered bangs are gone….this is a better look by the way. She says making me smile, Oh and look Kason! You have all your teeth! No more snaggled toothed smiles!

Hey look whose talking, at least you finally did something with that one eyebrow Tess. I respond, causing her to bust out in a fit of giggles.

If you call me Bert after all I’ve been through you will never be able to sleep with your eyes closed again Kason!

I put my hands up in the air like it’s a hold up showing that I’ve surrendered….for now. I pull her close I hug her again, I can’t help myself. Tessa, I’m so thankful you are home, I prayed for so long for this. Then when I made it big in the pros and we were finally able to hire some real professionals we started being able to track where you had been. Tessa, I’ll be honest I almost hoped you were gone, I didn’t know who you ended up with, but some of the men we were able to trace down, were just evil. No way to live. I started to give up on you, I’m sorry. Dad never has, he continues to look. It’ll be tomorrow before he can get here, he’s with the team overseas now. Mom should be here in the next hour or so and Tilly soon after, she’s flying in from LA. They never lost hope either, just me. I’m so fucking sorry Tessa for losing hope, or faith, when not even you did, but I’m mostly sorry for them getting you that day. For not being able to save you. That will never happen again, I will always protect you. I tell her as I bury my face in her hair, I can’t help it, sometimes you can’t be the tough guy, the tears running down my face can’t be stopped anymore than the rains in the Amazon.

Tessa grips me tightly, squeezing me with everything she has. Kason, it was never your fault that they got me. You’ve got to believe me. An order had been put in for a girl looking like me to be found, those men who grabbed me had been watching me for days, knew my routine. They knew I’d be heading home to supper about that time and they knew I’d be alone because Tilly never went, she was too old and too cool, and you weren’t allowed because you were too young. Tessa grabs my head and then pushes me back against the headboard and sits curled up in my side looking up at me. Kase, you weren’t supposed to see them grab me. They almost took you too, we are lucky that it was just me and not both of us, and our parents are really lucky they didn’t lose both of us that day. What I went through was horrible, but nothing compared to what a young boy would’ve experienced. Believe it or not there is a blessing in the way things worked out Kase. Tess finishes.

Where have you been? I ask her. I know you started off on the Isle of Man then they sent you to Cairo and you were sold there to some rich pervert, but that is where I run into a dead end. I pause for a second to see if she has anything to add and when she nods her head to continue I push on from there. From what I have gathered, the place you were sold at is basically a high end slave market, any kind of slave from manual labor to sex slaves. You were most likely selected to be sold as a sex slave, and as a virgin and American would’ve brought a high price. Since not all attendees are from countries where slavery is legal the guest list is made up of code names. Only a very few knew who the real people behind the code names were, less access to the records. The place you were sold burnt to the ground about 6 years ago, there were employees trapped in the building and accelerant was used. As you might think the ones that died in the fire are the ones who would have had useful information. I tell her.

Well how did you manage to get any leads at all to even attempt to follow up on if everyone was dead? Tessa asks.

One man, Ammon, had been very ill for several months prior to the fire; we now know it was stomach cancer. That morning he was violently ill and was unable to get out of bed, actually he never did again. That’s the reason he wasn’t at the building that day. As far as his former employer knows he died of cancer a week later, but the truth is, his family moved him to Tantu where he is from, afraid after the fire someone would try to kill him. That’s where my folks found him. This was almost two years ago, he was weeks from death and wanted to cleanse his soul so he told us as many names as he could remember, and who ran the operations. We’ve been following up on leads every since then. I tell her.

Do you know who bought me? She whispers.

I do. I tell her. Well I think so at least. General Bashir Contee, right? In Zimbabwe?

At his name Tessa turns her head away and stares out the window, the last rays of daylight are still visible through the tall pines. Her eyes have taken on a faraway look, she’s remembering something, she’s somewhere in the past, tears begin to roll down her face. As I reach over to wipe them off of her cheeks she stops my hand and says, No let them go, tears cleanse the soul Kase, I need to cleanse myself from the inside out. I can make peace I believe for the things that have been done to me, my last master helped me find comfort in my own skin, the same man who made sure I was freed, and the same man who died for me. But Kase, I need to cleanse my soul for the things I’ve seen done. Yes it was Contee. He was evil beyond words, the things he did to his men, me, his people, women and children. Genocide Kase. This is what I need to cleanse myself of, I had no part in any of it, but what I saw and heard and then to be forced to share his bed at night. So leave the tears, they are good, they are for every mother who can no longer cry, I cry for them now.

Jesus Tessa, I’m so sorry. I say as I gather her closer to me. Anyone who’s watched the news in the past fifteen
