About this ebook

Celeste's new job as the personal assistant to the CEO of Winters Group is a dream come true. Trying to keep things purely professional with her boss is a different story, though. Their night together on the yacht is still hanging over them, and the chemistry that crackles between them is beginning to wear away Celeste's good sense. She knows that rich playboys like Stephen are nothing but trouble, but it's getting harder every day to keep her distance.

She wasn't about to put herself through that kind of heartbreak—even though her entire body was pleading with her that it would be worth every sweet, steamy second of it.

When Stephen told his new assistant that he'd let their night on his yacht go, he'd been lying. After she pulled her Cinderella routine, he'd left no stone unturned to find her and get her back. Now that she's back within his grasp, he has no intention of letting her go again.

He wanted her, and he intended to have her—very naked, very soon. And then he'd work on keeping her.

    About the Author

    Winter’s Spell

CELESTE STARED AT ANDREW, unable to speak. The interview wasn’t with him? All of the morning’s stress and sudden emotional ups and downs had her feeling as though she was riding a roller coaster and hanging on for dear life. When he gestured towards the door again, she nodded, took a deep breath and squared her shoulders, then knocked firmly on the heavy wooden door.

    Come in.

There was none of the chic of the outer offices here. This room was all massive mahogany furniture and ornate Persian rugs over plush tan carpet. The man she had come to see sat leaning back in a brown leather executive chair with his feet propped on a desk which looked as though it weighed more than her car. Celeste took one look at him and spun on her toes to stalk right back out the door.

    Celeste, wait.

She stopped with her hand on the doorknob and closed her eyes. Why was this happening to her? Did the universe have it in for her or something? If she had any sense at all, she’d bolt. With a sigh she opened her eyes and slowly turned to face him.

Stephen stood up behind his desk, grinning at her like a kid on Christmas morning. You know, if you had left a glass slipper behind like you were supposed to, it would have made finding you a lot easier.

She cocked an eyebrow at him, trying to ignore the sudden flutter in her tummy and hoping that her knees didn’t turn to mush under the power of that grin. Most guys would have figured out that a girl running out on them that way meant that she didn’t want to be found.

His smile faded a little, turning sheepish. After I came back and saw you were gone, I talked to half of the people on that yacht trying to figure out who you were and where you came from. Eventually I remembered that Derek Miller had brought you. By then that mess in Singapore was about to blow up in my face, though, and I didn’t have time to call Derek until last night. But I was determined to find you, because I really wanted to see you again.

And I imagine you’re quite used to getting what you want.

Yes. He didn’t crack a smile, but his eyes danced.

So you talked Derek into luring me here with the story of that personal assistant job for Andrew as bait, instead of just getting my number and asking to see me again. Classy. Did you think I’d be impressed or something?

Stephen shook his head and walked around the desk towards her. "No, there never was a personal assistant job for Andrew. Derek was confused about that part. I was the one looking for a new assistant, but since you never told me what job you wanted to talk to Andrew about the other night, I didn’t figure out the mistake until later."

She blinked, and her hand drifted away from the doorknob. Wait. So there really is a job?

Yes, as personal assistant to me.

And who are you, exactly? Since we were never formally introduced.

I’m Andrew’s older brother. Stephen Winter. CEO of the Winters Group.

Oh, no. There was no way she could work for him. With the spark she felt just standing in the same room with him, it was bound to blow up in her face if she did. Every instinct told her to walk right out the door and not look back, but at the same time she really did need a job. I don’t know, Mr. Winter.

He gave an amused little snort. "Mr. Winter? It’s a bit late for formality now, wouldn’t you say?"

That’s the problem. I think we got a little bit too far past it. I don’t think that I’d feel comfortable working for you. A memory of their naked bodies twined together on his bed sent a hot flush creeping up her cheeks.

Cocking his head, he regarded her curiously. Maybe it was just a one time thing, Celeste.

Maybe so, but she knew it could easily turn into
