About this ebook

Mitchell thought it didn't matter that his rival at work had gone out with Akemi before they married. What were a few dates? She'd just arrived in the country, been lost then. He'd even concede hard-charging Frank might have helped her. Why worry about the past with a future this good? But the night of the poker game, Mitchell saw he stood to lose more than the beach vacation they'd saved for. Only the present counted, every heartbeat of it.

I should start by saying that there was a fair amount of drinking going on that night. Inhibitions were way low after a certain point, perceptions fogged. Everybody seemed to be counting on everybody else to see the limit of what was acceptable and- perhaps- stop before it was crossed. There was a lot of nervous laughter, furtive eyeing of each other. In short, no one knew what the fuck was going on.

I know, by the way, that it might seem our adventures here are more than the average, but bear in mind that Akemi is so attractive, that is, so concentratedly sexual, so evocative of sex, that where
