About this ebook
Ellis had a good memory, and when he saw the advertisement in a National newspaper, he was intrigued to say the least of it. Little did he know that the impossible had been achieved to some degree - and he would put the finishing touches to a new Science - but was it too late to be of use to Mankind?
He had an unknown to him talent which would lead him on an adventure he didn't really want to take - having sampled the first experiment - but he was now trapped in the system, and the only way out was through to the end - but the end of what?

Chapter1
An Unusual Ability
The adverts began to appear in all the scientific publications, one after the other, as if no one had answered the previous one - and then they tried the National Press......
‘If you have had an out of body experience, or the feeling that you are somewhere else other than where your body is, please get in contact with us - we have some great news for you. Your contacting us will be held in the strictest confidence, as will any data you provide us with.’
It was only when an advert showed up in a local paper that they got a few responses, and most of those were a bit suspect - the usual bunch of cranks replied with stories of going off to visit a race on Venus or Mars, or contacting an alien race from a distant star who were delighted to have met them.
Ellis had been thumbing through the paper to see if anything of interest was about to happen in his neck of the woods, when he saw the advert - it somehow triggered off an old memory from his childhood. He had been about ten or eleven, and used to help out an old man next door with his wood work. Actually, it consisted of clearing up wood shavings and a general tidy up, for which he was allocated a few scraps of wood, some nails, and encouraged to make something. One thing he was not allowed to do was go into the small shed in the main lean-to, where the tools were kept. On completion of a day’s work the tool shed door was firmly locked, the owner stating that the very sharp tools inside could easily cut a finger off, if misused.
Ellis had never seen the full contents of the tool shed, especially those kept in a box under the shelves, and often wondered what lay inside.
He recalled having a strange dream one night, where he was looking down on his body, asleep in his bed. He seemed to be just floating above his body, and for some reason he could not recall, thought about the mysterious tool box in the shed.
Suddenly he was there, looking at the locked tool store - the light seemed to be like bright moonlight with colours just about visible. As he looked at the door he seemed to float through it, and before him was the forbidden tool chest just below the shelves.
As he looked, the side of the chest seemed to go transparent, and he could see the tools inside, although he didn’t know what they were - just little blocks of wood with a funny shape, and metal blades sticking out from the surface.
When he awoke, he dismissed the dream as just something rather strange, and thought nothing more about it until a few days later when he was helping out in the workshop. The old man had gone into the normally locked shed and returned with one of the little blocks Ellis had seen
