Pak's Kung Fu system, augmented by some bits and pieces from some Chinese practitioners is quick and effective, or I wouldn't be alive today.My early education was mostly obtained by stealing books from the public library (I always returned them and the Librarian even began to provide me with reading lists.) I did go to high schools, but I never really learned anything there. I eventually graduated from the University of California at Los Angeles, UCLA, with a degree in mathematics.I work as a Systems Analyst and also make a part of my living as a professional gambler (legal in Nevada.) All of the characters in this story are at least 18-years-old.

Although I didn't know it, at the time, both Allison and I were born a few days apart. We then grew up in the well to do little town of Lakeview.

Allison is the daughter, and only child, of Ken Smith and his wife Jean. Ken is the richest man in Lakeview and he has an enormous amount of local political power. Jean, his wife, is borderline insane.

Allison grew up to be a very good looking girl and she would have been very popular, had it not been for Jean. Allison wasn't allowed to date until she turned 16-years-old. Even then, her curfew hours were so restrictive that most of the boys avoided her.

My folks were in the upper middle class and Jody would have been an average guy except for one major problem, the same major problem that Allison has.

I'm six foot one inch tall and I weight about 220 very muscular pounds. I have bright red hair and very white skin. I couldn't run with the other guys in Lakeview, because of my sunburn problem. So, I got my parents to pay for a membership at the Lakeview Gym. Since I had little else to do, I spent a lot of time working out. Since I'm a pretty good student, I not only worked out hard, I also worked out smart. As a result, I'm muscular and very well defined. After a few years of working out, I was hired as a trainer by the Lakeview Gym.

Allison also has bright red hair and very white skin. She couldn't run with the other girls, because of her sunburn problem and her mother's ridiculous rules. By the time she got into high school Allison also worked at the Lakeview Gym, running ladies' aerobic dance classes.

Despite the fact that we both worked at the same place, I really wasn't all that well acquainted with Allison. Our work areas were separate and I would maybe say 'Hi' to Allison a couple of times a week.
