CHAPTER ONE

Best Birthday Ever

HAPPY BIRTHDAAAAAAY!!!

Today was Jay’s ninth birthday and his parents decided to have a small party with just the immediate family and his next door neighbor (and good friend) Nikki, at their house. It was a Wednesday, and Jay was going to have a bigger party with his friends at ‘Get Your Jump On’ this Saturday. Get Your Jump On was a place that had really cool bounce houses. They not only had seven massive inflatable bounce houses, but they also had a pirate ship tree house, a cars-themed dual lane slide, and best of all, a Jurassic Adventure area with walk-thru dinosaur teeth. Jay loved anything that had to do with dinosaurs!

Jay’s mom walked in the dining room with a delicious looking cake with candles on it. She set the cake down on the table and then began lighting the candles.

Ryan began singing "Mom is great! She give us chocolate cake!"

Oh, I forgot something in the garage said Jay’s dad, I will be right back!

Okay dad. We will wait for you replied Jay.

No, that’s okay. You can go ahead without me. Just save me a piece of this delicious cake. I’ll only be a minute.

Jay’s mom led the group in singing to Jay. Okay everyone, let’s sing Happy Birthday to Jay.

As Jay blew out the candles on his cake, his younger brother Ryan sang…

"Happy Birthday to you!

You live in a zoo!

You look like a mon-keeeeey,

aaaaaand you smell like one too!"

Ryan started cracking up laughing and Nikki giggled.

Wow Ryan! That was so funny I forgot to laugh! replied Jay dryly.

Be nice to your brother on his birthday! said mom to Ryan.

Awww mom, I am being nice! I could have said he looks like Blobfish. Have you ever seen a blobfish? That is one ugly creature!

"Well you know what they say,
