Crown Prince Shafeek Mohamed Al Bin Kassim is just like any other student at Eton University, but the secret is no one at the university, except for Chancellor Smith, are aware of Shafeek’s true identity. Shafeek accidently bumps into Cathy Wilson on the staircase, sending her sprawling, books flying in all directions. Shafeek apologizes, but the fire-brand Cathy has a lot to tell him and ticks him off by asking him, whether he thinks he is the future king of England.

Cathy receives a bunch of red roses in a crystal vase from Shafeek, as a peace offering, tagged by his mobile phone number. Cathy calls Shafeek and a normal friendship begins, which leads to a romp in the gardens of Eton, on the night of their graduation. Cathy waits patiently for Shafeek to call her before he leaves, but she gets no call. Instead Guy Rolling, who has a crush on Cathy, informs her Shafeek left in the morning in a limo. Cathy is crestfallen, as she leaves the university with her brother William.

In the meantime, Shafeek is back in Muktar. His father King Rafeek wants him to ascend the throne and plans on his coronation to coincide with the Grand Ball, an annual event of the palace.

Cathy joins The Herald as an intern under the watchful eye of Rick Miles, its Editor and goes on to become sub-editor. Rick informs Cathy that they are to cover the Grand Ball at the Diamond Palace of Muktar and Cathy is elated.

They arrive at the Diamond Palace and Cathy is shocked to find the Crown Prince of Muktar is none other than her university love, Shafeek Kassim.

Shafeek wants to rekindle his romance with Cathy, but the eagle eyed King Rafeek stands in the way, as he has his eyes set on Shafeek marrying Princess Farzana of the neighboring kingdom of Zamibi. However, Shafeek and Cathy slip out of the royal “watch” and have a wonderful time in a cottage located in the deep desert.

Cathy and Rick return to London and Cathy has a visitor from the Embassy of Muktar. Does King Rafeek think her that cheap, so that he could buy her out? Well King Rafeek may have met his waterloo in Cathy Wilson and who knows, may be a grandchild out there in London.

They called him the Lord of Muktar.

Shafeek Mohamed Al Bin Kassim, Crown Prince of the state of Muktar throws a Grand Ball in the palace ballroom every year, where Sheikhs and Sheikhas from neighboring countries, Ambassadors and everyone who is someone attend. This has been a tradition that has come down the line of succession to the throne, throughout. Everyone looked forward to this annual event at the Palace and no expense was spared to make the event a palatial success.

Shafeek strode along the corridor of the Diamond Palace, his black robes bellowing around him, with Saleem his Secretary hot on his heels and his aides panting to keep up with him.

Not even turning, he spoke to Saleem.

Saleem, I gather everything for the ball is in place, he said. There was no tone of a question, but a command.

Bowing low, Saleem replied, Yes, Your Highness.
