It is a pleasure to bring these studies to you. Early in my Christian experience, I was taught that it would be a good idea to write my own Bible lessons when studying with people. This group of studies came out of that learning process. As I developed them, I had a pivotal conversation with someone very close to me, and it occurred to me that many people do not receive God’s love and tender regard for themselves. At the time, I thought it would be a good idea to write the lessons so that each reader, whether teacher or student, would read them from a personal perspective. This is why you will see so many personal pronouns used repeatedly like I, me, and my. I thought that if people read the lessons in this way, it would help them personalize the material.

This lesson study is intended to be a catalyst for people to connect, or reconnect with Christ. This is no secret formula. There are a few introductory thoughts for each lesson, thought-provoking questions, text, and personal commitment questions. I hope these lessons ignite a desire to learn more about Jesus through His Word and establish or continue to have a thriving relationship with Him. If you are prayerful and submissive, you will certainly be blessed.

Lesson 1 Introduction: God’s Love for Me

God’s love is more than just a theory. As I sat and prayed at the office while preparing to write this segment, I was tempted several times to just go home. I had a long day at work and because I could not come up with anything to write, I almost convinced myself that I would not force the issue. I am accustomed to thoughts coming more easily. I looked at the clock and just sat and meditated. After a while, I turned on the Internet and went
