About this ebook

Hells Redemption had been lucky to have the success they've had thus far.

They owed a large part to one of the greatest managers in music, Doc Madison. His assistant, the beautiful yet ruthlessly mean and efficient Angela Ramirez is his right hand. He's grooming her to take his place, and this means allowing no distractions that could stop her from running a management empire.

A strict, uncompromising rule had been issued with regards to all things romantic for his assistant and any client he represents. She is off limits. Doc won't allow unnecessary risks, let alone losing her, because one of his clients can't keep it in his pants. Musicians live the lifestyle of sex, drugs, and rock-and-roll and make no apologies for it. The last thing he wants to see is her suffering from a broken heart because one of them used her just to add a notch to a bedpost. In fact, he'd made the penalty for disobeying this mandate so severe everyone adhered to it… until now.

Magnetic charm, fascination, allurement, enticement, and the subtle attraction to each other have always been the case between Drake Mitchell and Angela Ramirez. However, with finally indulging in their desires, they are putting the future of the world's greatest Heavy-Metal band at risk.

Attraction is a dangerous thing, as it inevitably leads to temptation. When the two collide, all one can do is succumb to the pleasure and magnetic forces that acts between oppositely charged bodies, tending to draw them together.

This is a brief glimpse into the life of a music superstar with a panty-combusting smile, and a gorgeous Latin beauty who holds her own and makes no apologies for anything. This is the story of their ...

Attraction

For fans of J.S. Snow's Metal Prodigy Series, Attraction fills in the blanks of the hot and steamy night between Drake Mitchell and Angela Ramirez which was omitted from Resurrection, book two in the series.(Feel free to refer back to chapters four through six if you need to.) In addition, J.S. also gives her readers a glimpse into the surprising sultry night of Simone Farnsworth and Keith Taggert, which was briefly touched on in the novella, Trepidation.

With so much hot sex, hard bodies, and promises of more to come, it's recommended you keep a glass of ice water nearby.

Okay, make that an ice bucket.

J.S. Snow

J.S. Snow began her literary obsession at the tender age of eleven with the first voluntarily read book Dear God It’s Me Margaret by Judy Blum.  Only a few years later her fascination with fictional offerings really took root as she stepped into the mind of one of her hero’s Stephen King through his work Christine. Now seriously considering a twelve step program for her e-Reader addiction, she feeds her fascination for make believe with new literary offerings via said e-Reader, has a passion for dark chocolate, sweet tea and Heavy Metal music.  She is the proud mother of a downright spectacular daughter (who was head banging in the belly) and lives with the belief that the mind where the imagination lives is a far more entertaining place than TV or movies ever will be. J.S. Snow currently resides in Central Florida and has been in the administrative office field for twenty nine years.

While I stand behind my dedication of this novella to you, the fans, I feel a need to clue you all in who in a way started the whole Drake and Angela thing to begin with, my beloved friend Betsey.  She is one of my dearest friends, coworker and principle beta readers for this series, and a person I owe a huge debt of gratitude to.

At first, Angela Ramirez was never going to be a character.  Her purpose was to be a behind the scenes necessity for Doc Madison, but I never intended to write her in the series.  As far as a love interest for Drake was concerned, well in the outline for his book, Affirmation, I had him meeting an American girl over in the Australian outback.

Honestly, I don’t know where I come up with this shit.

One day at work, and this is while I was writing Resurrection in my off time, Betsey piped up, I think you should make me a character!  We had been talking earlier about how my family members really think of me making them characters in this series.  I had stated for the record that you have to be careful to skirt the fine line of make believe and real life, for certain things are best to remain private.

We were also discussing an idea for a story featuring a villain of the series, but in the end, I ended up dismissing due to it being a little too scary for me to even think about.  She encouraged me to think on it.  I next sat back and thought more on Betsey’s idea of making her a character.

In our professional lives, she’s incredibly good at her job.  She’s been with the company we work for over twenty-years.  She began her career straight out of high school.  She’s taught me a lot, but mainly, not to lose who you truly are deep down to your career.  At the end of the day, leave it, don’t take it home with you, it’ll be here when you get back.  Focus on what matters in life, your family.

I drove home that night thinking about putting her in this series.  Would she be a new one I would introduce?  What would be her role in it?  What would be her purpose?  I mean, let’s be honest here, I have what feels like twelve billion characters running through my head all the time, let alone the dozen or so I need to focus on for these books by itself.  Did I really need another to write?  Honestly, no.  I’m meticulous about outlining; I recommend it highly to any writer who wants to tackle a multi-character story.  So when you depart from what you have planned, it can throw a wrench into the organizational works big time.

I then thought of my character Seth.  Writing a widower is difficult enough, but how do I give him his happiness?  Would this mystery Angela be a good fit?  Should she be of Latin decent like he is?  Then it happened… Latin decent, ahhhhhh, now the wrench is coming at me and I better duck!

Living here in Florida now thirteen years, one cannot help but get caught up in its unique transitional culture.  You have folks from all over the place calling it home.  There’s also the fact that not only the Cuban culture has a Latin influence here, but the Puerto Rican, Dominican and Columbian cultures do as well.

My friend Betsey?  Puerto Rican descent, and proud of it.  She was born in New Jersey and is as bad ass as they come.  She can be mean (of course I point this out lovingly) and ruthlessly efficient.  Honestly, with the job she has, she doesn’t have a choice.  If you had to put up with the countless pendejos she’s forced to deal with every day, you’d be this way too.

So let’s get back to the lead guitarist of HR shall we?  Would it really work for him to hook up with Doc’s assistant?  Pondering it more, it didn’t work.  I needed to put Seth on a different path, and a less predictable one.  He’s mourning the death of his wife and still has a tough road ahead.  So I thought about Betsey some more and the one thing which stood out to me and everybody when she transferred to Florida from Jersey was her unapologetic style.  She’s stunning, has big beautiful brown eyes, wears her hair in a style which suits her mood, doesn’t sport over the top makeup, wears honest to God dresses and is covered in tattoos.  Okay, it was the tats, which surprised all the women in the office, there I admitted it.

However, a complete bad ass with a heart of gold and a visual to work off of when creating a character.

It then occurred to me, she already was one in this series.  When I came up with the description, mean, but ruthlessly efficient for Doc’s mystery assistant, it was based on her.  I simply hadn’t a clue where I came up with that.  Now the mystery was solved how Doc felt about her was implanted in my subconscious.

So excusing the notion Seth should have a love interest in the series at this juncture, the question was now who needs a girlfriend became the one to answer.  However, here was my dilemma.  Seth as I’ve already covered is still in mourning and not ready for anything resembling a girlfriend.  John of course is in desperate never ending love with Alex.  Cole is hopelessly head over heels for a little redheaded sprite tinkerbell.  Hiatt is indeed bound and determined to get his damn harem and then there was Drake, who was also in desperate never ending love with A.G.

I pulled into my apartment complex, into my parking spot, shut off the engine and smacked myself on the head.  There it was, Drake wasn’t in love with whom Alex is as a person, but with her stage persona. It was why he only ever referred to her as her stage name.  Duh!

Grabbing my shit, I ran up the stairs, into my apartment and straight to my desk.  Booting up the computer, I wrote by hand frantically in my notebook the new ideas which needed to be added to the outline.  Once I got online, I researched typical Puerto Rican last names (my only experience with Latin surnames were Mexican ones) and ran across, Ramirez.  Angela Ramirez was then born.

Hell, my giving birth to my daughter naturally was easier than this shit.

The direction Resurrection was heading at the time was a predictable one, Drake leaving the band because John took what he secretly wanted.

Yawn, snooze, someone probably already wrote that.

So, I needed to change the tone of the story, throw things into it which would serve all the character’s best interest, and I desired to soften Drake up a bit but yet, keep him on his toes at the same time.

As I added to the outline of Resurrection, I became happier with it.  Drake and Angela simply worked.  Angela herself interjected a breath of fresh air to the story and in turn, made Doc Madison a more lovable character.  In the end, thanks to an idea suggested to me on a whim from my friend, this entire series became better.

Thank you Betsey from the bottom of this writer’s heart.

    About the Author

    ONE

Clearing away the condensation from the bathroom mirror, Drake assessed himself to see if he should give his mug a quick shave before dressing. Deciding to put his Gillette through its paces, he pondered more over the interview A.G. had granted not only a few hours ago live on Network News.

To say he and the guys were delightfully surprised and impressed would be an understatement. She had handled herself coolly and maintained her composure throughout the session. Personally, he was blown away by her honesty. He had no idea she harbored resentment the way she did towards the Pennsylvania State Prosecutors Office. Not that he blamed her; they did drop the ball, big time. What he was the most impressed with, however, was instead of her focusing all of her energy into being vengeful, she was instead determined to do something about it. Her Lost Girls Foundation was needed and she was right; not enough emphasis was being put on human sex trafficking and it was an issue that shouldn’t be ignored anymore. He and Seth were tasked with finding the annual charity Hells Redemption would back, and this was perfect. No vote was necessary. One had already been cast on the total dollar amount and he knew not a single band member would object to it.

He appreciated her graciousness over the course of the interview with how they discovered her and he smiled broadly as he gave his neck a few blade swipes, remembering her reaction when they appeared in the green room after the show where they met her for the first time. She was even more beautiful up close than on stage. Her doe-eyed expression at them had all but completely did him in. He could still see her face to this day when he complimented her playing.

He loved learning more about her, and while they all knew she was a musical genius, to learn of her journey through Julliard and then turning down an opportunity to be a member of a world famous orchestra really blew them all away. She was also the cutest kid and he was genuinely happy she had such a loving and adoptive mother.

He also fell harder in love with her, if that were even possible.

He snickered remembering Hiatt's reaction to the whole thing. The twerp was ready to board the HR jet to give those boys in Philly a beat down. Then again, Hiatt was always amped up to beat on somebody.

Drake thought they really needed to find him a new hobby besides surfing.

Speaking of beat downs, he was still fighting the urge to go and find Larry Biltmore and issue him one himself. The man did make it right with the band and all the other artists LaCross Records represented by righting the wrongs of Jeff LaCross, so it wasn't what he wanted to issue the beating for. He still couldn't believe he used to think of Larry as such a great guy who ended up cheating on his wife, and with the gorgeous and beautiful woman he was about to set
