All my life, I’ve been really, really shy. I grew up tall, but thin and it didn’t help that I’ve always known I was gay, but growing up in rural Wyoming meant I was keeping that little fact to myself. Sure, my dream might have been to move to New York or Los Angeles to live the kind of life I thought I could really be happy in, but my parents were old and I knew it would kill them.
