Sudie Landry

At the age of six years old, I was learning how to pray for myself and for others. I remember my grandmother saying, “When you are afraid, just pray, and the bad will go away”. I prayed a lot! As time passed, I found myself in situations that required me to pray often. I was afraid of certain things while others seemed to not be bothered. I feared skeletons in drawings or cartoons. Halloween really put the fear into me. I was even afraid of the “Casper the Friendly Ghost” television series when others seemed to enjoy it tremendously. In this book you will get a little peek into my world as you journey with me to understand the supernatural encounters that would become a part of my daily life to this present day.The word of God is a powerful tool to lean on when afraid or seeking help. My favorite scripture is Mark 10:27: And Jesus looking upon them said, “With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible.”Sudie Landry prefers to promote the concepts she has learned rather than promote herself. Faith has been an important key in her life. Jesus Christ is the source of her life. Because of Him, she is able to share how she was able to survive SEVERE ABUSE and retain a healthy mind. Her prayer is for the readers to benefit from her experiences and learn the principles that enabled her to overcome trials and testing. She learned that one can be stronger when the hurts are recognized, deal with them and keep on living. She became stronger as she learned to live in the present, forgive her abusers, asked God to erase hate and He did. She understands all things are possible with God because He loves her. He loves you, too! God allows U-turns. Even the abuser can be redeemed when they turn from sin to God. She does not want the attention. She wants to deflect all attention to the One responsible for her life.

    ABOUT THE FRONT COVER

Daddy, there’s a monster in my closet!

Oh Honey, shush! There’s no such thing as monsters. Go back to sleep!

When I was the same age as this girl on the cover, I began seeing into the spirit realm. I saw what I called monsters, but in reality they were demon spirits sent to torment me with fear.

At this same time, I received a spiritual gift from God called the discerning of spirits, which is knowing what is of God and what is not of God. Plus this gift enabled me to see things in the spiritual realm that others may not be able to see. One of these things was I was able to see my hands glowing. Not physically... nobody could see them glow. But I could, when a special anointing or gifting was on me to pray and get my prayers answered and overcome the fears the spirits attacked me with.

At this young age I saw skeleton monsters and others much more terrifying. But when I prayed my silent prayer to God, and my hands started glowing, the spirits got scared and left.

Remember the wicked stepmother from the fairy tales. I had one just like that. Because of her I had an extremely abusive childhood ... verbally, emotionally, sexually and physically. It was only my strong faith in God at this young age that I was able to survive and thrive, growing into a strong Christian woman.

So the next time your children or grandchildren complain about monsters in their closet, maybe their spiritual eyes are opened to something only they can see. Listen to the children!

    Chapter 1

    The Light

It was during my high school years in the 1960s that I first experienced what one would call E.S.P., or Extra Sensory Perception.

My father drove 18-wheelers for a living. While sitting at my desk in class, I saw a vision of my father driving in the mountains, when all of a sudden something happened to his truck and it was falling down the cliff. I immediately prayed a silent prayer for God to protect my father and keep him safe. At that time, I felt that the message had definitely been from God. This seemed so real to me.

When I returned home, I felt that I needed to tell someone what happened. The only one that could possibly understand was my step-mother, but she had been very abusive to me for many years. I related the incident to her anyway with fear and trembling, not knowing what she would say or do to me.

When my father returned home a week later, he told us his story, and it was exactly as I had seen it. His big rig had jumped the barrier and was falling over the cliff when for some unknown reason it was set back on the road and he continued driving.

From that time on, I would experience these types of events, which were either strong feelings or visions of danger about to happen.

These episodes did not occur back to back. There were no special sequences. Sometimes weeks would elapse, or maybe even a month or so. But each time, the feeling that danger was being set in motion would engulf me. Many times the anxiety would grow so intense until I said my simple prayer, Dear God, please help whoever it is who needs help. A name would come to mind, and then I knew who it was. After the prayer was prayed, the worry would leave my heart and mind. I would then experience a relaxing peace each time.

Sometimes the episodes would totally be forgotten until later. It never failed, somehow somewhere down the line, I would always be told by the person or others what had happened. As I became aware that every incident that I sensed would happen and did, I began to question why. All happenings did take place, but no one was ever hurt. Did my prayer, with God’s help, serve a purpose?

I began to feel the pressure of trying to remain strong through my continuing episodes. I began trying to ignore some signals, because I hated knowing about things beforehand. That didn’t work, so I continued to pray until the burden would let up.

When my daughter, Donnell, was two weeks old, my kidneys completely shut down, causing me to go into a coma. My family was called to make funeral arrangements for me. My mother-in-law said a simple prayer for me. Dear Lord, if you are finished with her, then take her now. If not, then let her stay to take care of her husband and newborn daughter. My eyes opened! God had given me another chance at life.

After this close encounter with death, the feelings grew even stronger. When I was on my death bed, I clearly remember the dream state that I was in. On the outside, others observed me in a coma. I, myself, had the sensation of drifting toward this bright light at the end of a tunnel. I could hear the most angelic-like music that sounded like a soothing lullaby. I’d never heard that music before or since then. I could also hear my family crying and wondering why they were doing so. Why were they
