Sudie Landry

At the age of six years old, I was learning how to pray for myself and for others. I remember my grandmother saying, “When you are afraid, just pray, and the bad will go away”. I prayed a lot! As time passed, I found myself in situations that required me to pray often. I was afraid of certain things while others seemed to not be bothered. I feared skeletons in drawings or cartoons. Halloween really put the fear into me. I was even afraid of the “Casper the Friendly Ghost” television series when others seemed to enjoy it tremendously. In this book you will get a little peek into my world as you journey with me to understand the supernatural encounters that would become a part of my daily life to this present day.The word of God is a powerful tool to lean on when afraid or seeking help. My favorite scripture is Mark 10:27: And Jesus looking upon them said, “With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible.”Sudie Landry prefers to promote the concepts she has learned rather than promote herself. Faith has been an important key in her life. Jesus Christ is the source of her life. Because of Him, she is able to share how she was able to survive SEVERE ABUSE and retain a healthy mind. Her prayer is for the readers to benefit from her experiences and learn the principles that enabled her to overcome trials and testing. She learned that one can be stronger when the hurts are recognized, deal with them and keep on living. She became stronger as she learned to live in the present, forgive her abusers, asked God to erase hate and He did. She understands all things are possible with God because He loves her. He loves you, too! God allows U-turns. Even the abuser can be redeemed when they turn from sin to God. She does not want the attention. She wants to deflect all attention to the One responsible for her life.

    INTRODUCTION

Lela Mae Bradley was born September 16, 1887, in Waynesboro, Mississippi. She died March 13, 1990. She was a special lady who loved the Lord. She was 102 years, five months and 25 days at the time of her death.

Everyone who came in contact with her would never forget her. She loved talking about the Lord and sharing stories of her old days. She brought joy to many. She was an inspiration to all who knew and loved her. She was not ashamed of the Gospel.

The following is her story during the last thirteen days of her life. It’s true and the Lord instructed me to write it and share it with everybody. It will touch your hearts and make a believer out of you, if you are not one already.

I’m Sudie Landry, great-granddaughter of Mom Bradley. I sat at her bedside for thirteen days and witnessed a beautiful and awesome testimony. May her story bless you, just as I and many others were blessed. She didn’t die; she just crossed over into an everlasting life with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

    Thursday, March 1, 1990

At 8:30 p.m., my daughter Dondi and I pulled into my grandmother’s car shed in Cove, Arkansas. Her name is Sudie Irby. We call her Little Mother because she’s very short. She’s my grandmother. Mom Bradley was my great-grandmother, who we called Mom B. As I was driving up, I thought I had seen Mom B at the screen door unlocking it for us to enter. The first thought that had entered my head was that Mom B has done it again.

Mom B has been on her death bed many times and had pulled through when the doctors said she would not. I thought for that split second maybe that this would be another one of those times.

As I looked again, it was not Mom B, but one of her daughters, Bernice Ashley, my great-aunt. The figure that I had originally seen was almost translucent, thin and frail, an overall white figure. Later, I noticed that Aunt Bernice was in red pajamas. At the time, I had just chalked it up to my subconscious playing tricks on me.

As my daughter and I entered the house, I went to greet Mom B, who was in a hospital bed with a nearby vaporizer running. As I went to Mom B’s bedside at 8:45 p.m., she said, Let me go, let me go. Let me die. I want to go to Heaven with Jesus.

She went back to sleep. I went to sit with my grandmother and great-aunt. I sat on a nearby blue velvet sofa and remarked to Little Mother, I didn’t come here to just bury my great-grandmother. I felt that the Lord was going to do a mighty work. I could sense it in my spirit. I knew that something great and awesome was going to happen during my stay here. At the time, I knew there was a purpose for my being here. I prayed constantly to be led by the
