ENTERPRISE DAWNING
It was 5 minutes until 12:00. At 12:00 he would make his decision. He threw the 6Q into the box on the floor. The six-sided cube showed the pentagon. He would choose the 5th place on his list.
The date was GT 21255D. It had only been one cuadem since the Cona-3 Cha plant. With credits that Eldon earned there and from distribution of the seemark devices, he was able to travel and secure materials and means in D sector. For the better part of his life as an intelligent being or ibee, Eldon has had no problem obtaining means for interstellar travel and his search projects. This is due mainly to his experience and contacts with the Singsords and other seekers throughout the galaxy. If he needed anything, they would gladly send it or deliver it to him in person, if at all possible, as he would do for them. This unity and cooperation transcended all species and cultures among seekers. This 'seeker solidarity' manifested itself because of their common goal of seeking the Source. But there was more to it, especially for the Hearthite type ibees. It provided a sort of brotherhood and protection. These were benefits all too rare among many ibees. And this unusual solidarity enabled them to accomplish things that had never been done with an almost infinite diversity of ibees in the universe. Eldon was a part of this seeker unity, even though he worked alone as an independent agent on most occasions.
Those occasions of seeker treks were happening for Eldon more frequently than in the past. He did have a certain method of deciding where to search in his never-ending quest. He consulted various sources on ibees and where they may be located in the galaxy. These sources included official archives of known civilizations that practice interstellar travel, the Singsords archives, and reports from seeker contacts. Then he will make a list of at least 5 or 6 places or ibee species. The list is always different. Then, unless there is a compelling reason to choose a certain one on the list, he will use the 6Q to decide. This way seemed to work well for him and he has had some good results on each trip.
His present list consisted of the following:
1. Planet PV-1 of the Poclea wandering star
2. TCI-3 in the Lebizz system, with a tech scale rate of 13
3. Penoma World at Maswi 3 in the Maswi star cluster
4. ISCEA, of X-Star-B3131
5. LOSGOP 2 near Bruno 421 yellow star
Three of the five were in D-Delta sector. Numbers 2 and 5 were in Є-Epsilon sector. Eldon had traveled more than 3 sectors of his Ursa Galaxy. He started in A-Alpha where Earth was. Next came B-Beta. The site of the Okron disaster was actually in Beta sector. In G-Gamma sector he found #U11 planetoid near Quasi-Vari Star, among others. And in D-Delta was Shanglace in the Auraque Formation near Delta-Psi I at the border with C-Centra sector. So now came a possible next trek to Epsilon sector. The other two of the seven sectors of the galaxy he had not visited were C-Centra (the center) and Ω-Omega.
It was now 10 seconds to 12:00. A loud beep chirped. It startled Eldon because of the timing of it. It was a communication by way of the galactic beacon, so it must be urgent. The face on the Oraviewer did not look familiar.
This is Aldanon Betokuse
was his recommended formal answer.
Are you still called Aldanon? This is Perl'Naty from Penoma'--.
The name, along with the voice rang a chime of recognition for Eldon.
Perl – a surprise to hear your voice again.
Perl was a Singsord and a fellow seeker.
The visual signal faded out but the voice could still be heard.
Yes it is Perl, Aldanon. Where are you in D'--?
I am at Cona-3 Cha. And you may call me Eldon. What may I do for you?
A phenomenon' – is worthy of your attention. It recently started and would be in your field' --. That is all I can say now. You know how these beacon rates are.
How timely because I was just making my decision for my next stop. Penoma will definitely be my next destination.
This was meaningful to Eldon. It was a directive from the Creator or one of his agents. That planet was on his list because of some unusual reports. But it remained to be seen if they were related to what Perl was talking about.
The faint ring
