About this ebook
Timothy Beale isn't crazy, he hopes, but he is seeing things behind the wallpaper in his bedroom. Every night. The secret messages and neon-blue lights, leaking out from underneath the picture frame, mean something, he is certain. Just what they are trying to tell him remains a mystery, but he is sure that if he doesn't find out quick something very bad is going to happen.

Behind Cold Walls
He had a very small room in the attic, a cold and lonely room, and when the wind blew, tree branches scratched against the window. It was an old-fashioned room with real plaster walls. Sometimes he could hear the grains of gypsum drop beneath the wallpaper's rippled seams. It was decorated with framed pictures of olden days that mostly hung crooked.
His name was Timothy Beale and he lived near the banks of the Monongahela River in Booth, West Virginia. Mining country. He had just turned thirteen and lived with his aunt and uncle because his father was dead and his mother was a stranger who, with red lipstick and perfumed cleavage, visited only once a year.

No ma'am.
Somehow, I just don't believe you Mr. Beale. Perhaps you would like to explain to Mr. Garret what you find so funny in my class room.

Yes, ma'am.
At that moment a blonde girl with a hidden potential for beauty turned around and glowered
