About this ebook
Yijun paused at the door of the tiny shop, skin prickling. The smell was old mold despite the icy cold enveloping xem.
Creepy as hell dolls all around xem. Xe wanted to run right back outside but the jocks that'd chased xem were still out there. No way was xe facing them down.
So. Yeah. Creepy dolls. Creepy shop owner. And everything shifting around xem in ways that made Yijun want to run.
The trap had already been sprung, though, so there was no way out except straight through.
Right to the soul of the magic.
Or was it Yijun's soul?

It was like stepping into a freezer, cold cutting into xyr nostrils, assaulting xyr ears and fingers and the damp flesh at xyr throat. And the smell, musty as old mold and classic books left too long unopened. Xe shivered, rubbing xyr hands over xyr arms.
Goosebumps.
Really was cold as hell in here. Creepy, too. Every single shelf was covered with dolls and figurines. Tiny little things the size of xyr thumbnail on up to one over by the register that was the exact size of a toddler, just with glassy eyes and that perfect sort of ringlet that would never survive two seconds on a real child. Yijun thought about going back outside, continuing xyr supposedly casual stroll but really quite urgent power walk through Lake Steven's oh-so-historical shopping district.
