    About the Author

    PRISONER OF OAK TERRACE

It sits about five miles outside Atlanta, Georgia. It always has. For some reason, the city refuses to grow out that direction. Ask any of the old timers and they'll tell you why. No one wants to get any nearer to that house than they have to. Prisoners are taken there.

The house they are referring to is the old Mulberry place. Oak Terrace they used to call it back in its heyday. Its heyday was just before the civil war, when it was famous for the parties that were held there. Women fluttered around in their wide hoop skirts and men stalked around after them, as men have been want to do for ages.

Prisoners are taken there? you ask. Yes, prisoners. Prisoners of a woman dead so long that no one is even sure about her name. Some call her Eliza; others Elizabeth. Most just call her the devil himself.

When you ask what prisoners, you'll get lots of stories in return. Stories of strange things that have happened
