A is for... Alcohol

Creating delicious and original liqueurs at home is simpler than it sounds. A wonderful array of drinks can be created in your home, with just a few key ingredients and a handful of simple utensils.

The first thing you’ll need to source, is of course, alcohol. A good, strong base spirit will be needed, and to this you can add your flavours. Fruits, herbs, spices and sweets work brilliantly when steeped in alcohol, and will give your base spirit a wonderful flavour.

Vodka is a good choice as a base spirit as it is colourless. Gin is also popular, although rum and whisky are good choices, too. You don’t need to use the most expensive spirit available, although a base spirit with a high alcohol percentage is preferable.
