transport1
Your five month journey aboard the transport vessel had been uneventful. But now only a day from arrival at the mining colony on the planet, Crag, it appeared your life was in genuine danger. You heard what sounded like an explosion somewhere deep in the ship. Then alarms went off.
All hands abandon ship!
you hear over the intercom repeated time and again. The corridors of your transport vessel were filled with miners and other passengers frantically running to the nearest escape pod.
Many of the escape pods had already launched as you searched with others for an available boat. The lights above you began to flicker. You hear what sounds like another explosion nearby. Then for a moment the lights go out leaving everyone in the corridor in complete darkness. You could hear the screams of frightened passengers. Fortunately the lights came back on and you resumed your search for an available pod.
Finally you discover an available escape pod and climb in with two others. A man and a woman. The hatch closes behind you and the pod blasts off from the transport ship. Looking through a small window you see the ship you've left behind. Several small explosions tear through the side of the transport vessel. More escape pods jettison away and then... the transport ship explodes!
I wonder what happened?
the woman asks.
Beats me. One minute I'm sleeping, the next I'm running for my life,
says the man. There is a minute of silence. Then the man introduces himself to you and the woman. My name is Alistair.
I am Isis,
the woman tells you. We need to get to safety. How far are we from the planet?
Well we were only a day away from Crag,
says Alistair. But that was on board the transport. This life pod doesn't travel very fast. It will likely take us a week to get to the planet now. However, Crag has a moon that is nearby. Only a half day away. There is no atmosphere but I believe there is an outpost there. I'll try to contact both the outpost and the mining colony.
Alistair contacts the outpost on the moon and you all receive a robotic voice message informing you that they will accept your arrival. However, Alistair was unable to make contact with the mining colony on Crag.
Alistair also opens a channel with the other escape pods in the area and learns that most of them intend to make the week long journey to the planet Crag in spite of the fact that none have been able to raise communications with the mining colony there. But the survivors in one of the pods decides they'll go to the moon outpost.
Well what should we do?
asks Alistair. Do we go to the outpost on Crag's moon? Or take the week long journey to the mining colony on Crag?
We should go to the outpost station on the moon. Turn to 4.
We should keep the course to planet Crag. Turn to 2.

You settle in for the week long journey to the planet Crag. The escape pod carried food rations for the three of you to share. You learned that Alistair was a miner and Isis was an electrical engineer. Each day you looked out a small window and could see the orange planet getting closer. Each day you tried unsuccessfully to contact the mining colony on the planet.
While sleeping on the third solar night, you are awoken by Isis. Do you hear that?
she whispers.
You look over and see Alistair sleeping. Groggily you listen but there is nothing.
It's weird. I thought I could faintly hear wind chimes. But I hear nothing now too. Sorry, go back to sleep,
Isis tells you.
On the fourth day you attempt to contact the mining colony again
