About this ebook

You Shall Not Commit Adultery: Something was Wrong About John

John is there in an emergency, as Helen, Levi’s wife and the girl he has loved forever, goes into labor, and John blames Levi when Helen’s life and the life of her unborn child are jeopardized. As John roams the darkness along the road outside of Helen and Levi’s house, Helen, feeling trapped in her sadness, escapes the house and goes willingly with John for a tryst in the woods. Coming to her senses and realizing that she loves her husband, Helen rebuffs John, but he continues watching Helen’s house with the hope that she will change her mind. John meets the love of his life and gleans a lesson from The Seventh Commandment in this story.

John Byler dropped Mudder Gunden off in the drive way at the Gunden farm, pulling up the hill to the house and parking the black sedan that he used for cab service in front of the steps. He had driven her into town for supplies, as she had been caught unaware when Helen went into labor a full three weeks before her estimated due date. The mid-wife was dropped at the door at 4:30 a.m., and Mudder, still dressed in her night clothes, had asked John to return at 9:00 to take her into town when the grocery opened.

Helen was in labor in one of the rooms above the kitchen, and John needed to be near her. If anything happened to Helen, he was already blaming Levi for it.
