About this ebook
The horror of her life starts when Peggy Brown wakes up in the parking lot of the neighbour-hood mall alone. The last thing she remembered was shopping with her husband Jacob and two years old daughter Natalie. Now they have both mysteriously disappeared and Jacob's cellphone was dead. Terror and devastation further shatters her world when security videos show that they were there a week ago and not on the day itself. Somehow she had skipped time for a week without any memories of the missed time. What happened during that week? How can a week just disappear from her life like that? Where did her family go? How come she has no memories of the missing week? How come she was still in the same clothes and place as a week ago?

Chapter 1
I called Jacob's phone for the fifth time but the line just went dead. Fear started to fill my heart as I ran into the mall, desperately trying to retrace my steps, going back to the places my husband and I and Natalie, our two year old baby girl had been. I kept looking at my cellphone hoping that Jacob would call. Both of them were missing and Jacob was never the type to leave with the baby without informing me. My gut feeling told me that something wasn't right and I ran towards the shop selling baby and children clothings. They weren't there.
Have you seen my husband and baby?
I asked the salesgirl.
Who is your husband?
she asked, giving me a weird stare.
We were here maybe just about half an hour ago, tall man in a… in a…,
I tried to recall what shirt he was wearing desperately, in a… blue T-shirt and a baseball cap. My baby girl had this pink ribbon on her hair.
I pointed to one of the pink ribbons on the rack.
I'm afraid no,
she replied, Let me ask my colleague for you.
Anna, have you seen this lady's husband and baby? He was wearing a baseball cap and a blue T-shirt,
the salesgirl called out to the girl at the cashier.
No, Meg,
the cashier called back out to us.
Actually I haven't seen you come in today,
the girl called Meg said to me.
I was here. We bought the ribbon and clipped it onto my baby's hair right before the cashier. And she even said my baby girl was cute,
I insisted.
We're short handed of staff today. I'm the only salesgirl on the floor and I served all the customers who came in. So we are sure we haven't seen you coming in with your husband. I think you got the wrong place. Maybe you could try looking in other shops,
the girl said firmly.
It was hopeless arguing with her. She was so stubborn. I didn't want to waste any time and I just turned and ran off to continue retracing our steps to the bakery. We have bought pastries there for years and the owner Brian definitely remembers us. I tried calling Jacob again and still his line went dead.
Hey Peggy, where's Jacob and the kiddo?
Brian greeted from behind the counter the moment he saw me dashing in.
Did you see them coming back here?
I asked, trying to catch my breath.
Coming back?
Brian asked, looking confused.
Yeah, we bought some bread here just awhile ago remember?
I asked, starting to feel frustrated, Why does everybody pretend not to have seen us????
Brian came out from behind the counter. He looked deeply concerned as he put a hand on my shoulder and said as gently as he could, Peggy, I was here all morning and I swear I haven't seen any of you. Are you okay Peggy?
I looked at him in disbelief.
Is this some kind of sick prank Jacob asked you to pull with him? It's not funny okay??
I cried, feeling my stomach twist and cold sweat filling my palms.
I swear to God I'm telling you the truth Peggy!
Brian sweared.
I flung his hand off my shoulder and ran out to the next place we stopped at.
I ran into the restaurant called the CowBoys where we had lunch at and looked for them. The manager came to confront me right away, Excuse me Madam, can I help you?
Did you see my husband and baby coming back here?
I asked, almost crying.
What does your husband look like?
he asked me.
We sat at the table over there just this afternoon. My husband wore this baseball cap and a blue T-shirt,
I described, hoping he would say yes.
The manager shrugged, I'm sorry Madam, we have a lot of people coming in by the hour, I just can't seem to remember him or you.
I was so devastated that I lost it and began shouting, How could you say that? I was here not too long ago and your girl spilled hot gravy onto me. Look at the stain,
I pointed at the patch of dried up and even caking patch on my three quarter sleeve.
Calm down Madam, I'll check for you,
the manager said raising his voice over mine.
Beck, go around and ask everyone of our floor staff if they have seen this lady or her family here. She said one of our staff spilled gravy onto her,
the manager instructed a waitress who was walking pass us.
She went around the restaurant whispering into every individual staff's ear and everyone of them shook their heads after glancing at my direction. My heart sank as the waitress circled back towards us shaking her head.
No, I was here! There's another girl,
I insisted at the top of my voice.
The manager grabbed me sternly by the arm, Madam, I need to ask you to leave or I will call the security.
I flung his hand off my arm and screamed at him, What is this? How can you not remember me, all of you!
I screamed.
The rest of the diners in the restaurant stopped eating as they all turned their attention to me like I was a lunatic. It wasn't even a minute later that I was literally dragged out by two mall security guards. I struggled to break free but they were too strong.
I kept shouting to them that my family was missing and they just dragged me to their security office.
Ma'am, what is going on here?
a stout man around his forties in a blue uniform asked sternly as the other two guards released their grip on me.
"My husband
