THE HAUNTED PATIENT

In my job as a nurse I see all kinds of strange things. Rarely do I see anything paranormal related. When I used to work in the hospital I would see the soul when it leaves the body. Oh I see the patient’s guides and guardians but aside from that little else. I mean after all how many people would go to their doctor from and injury or illness caused by a demon or ghost? Well all that changed one day a few years ago. It was a Friday afternoon when the phone on my desk rang.

Hey are you busy? Susan our receptionist asked.

You should know better than that, I’m always busy. I smiled into the phone. What’s up?

Well, this guy just walked in and says he needs someone to look at his face and chest. We have no openings until Monday, but he insists on having someone look at what he says is a burn. I thought maybe you could take a look at it for him.

Sighing, I was about to send one of the new medical assistant’s out to deal with him when my guide Ann suddenly spoke up.

This is something only you can help this man with.

What do you mean, is it paranormal related?

Yup, he really needs your help, you’ll see what I’m talking about when you talk to him.

Okay, I’ll go and talk to him.

He looks a little nervous to me. Ann commented.

Listen Susan, ask him if he can wait a couple of minutes and I’ll look at the areas. Hanging up the phone I finished what I was doing at my desk.

Walking to the door leading to the waiting room I could feel a coldness and a sense of apprehension come over me. Pausing at the door I brought my protective force field close around me, augmenting it with a prayer. Reaching for the door handle I could sense the person I was about to meet had been touched by the darkness. Taking a deep breath I turned the handle opening the door slowly.

A man in his mid-40’s sat by himself in a chair holding on tightly to a motorcycle helmet. As our eyes met I could see the uncertainty and fear in his. Smiling at him reassuringly I gestured for him to come inside.

Let’s go into an exam room and you can tell me what I can help you with. Finding an open unoccupied room I closed the door.

Sitting his helmet down on the counter he proceeded to tell me about his reason for coming to the clinic.

Okay, it’s like this, over the last several weeks I’ve been having some problems. I’ve been waking up in the morning with symbols and writing burned into my chest, arms and back. I know it sounds strange but I swear it’s absolutely true.

All right, go ahead and slip off your shirt so I can take a look at the burn marks.

As he unbuttoned his shirt I could see faded white burn marks on his chest. Some were in the shape of symbols only one of which did I recognize, a pentagram. Once his shirt was off I could see the full extent of the writing on his arms, chest and back. What was written on his chest and back were as follows: I’m going to kill you, you will worship me, I’m going to kill your family, you will serve me, die @$#&.

You see what I mean? It happens at least once a week. What really freaks me out is that I don’t even know any of this is happening. My wife and I slept right through it, I didn’t even feel a thing.

Has anything else happened?

Well a couple weeks ago my wife and I woke up to find a threatening message written on our bedroom wall. It said, ‘I am going to kill you and your whole family’. Let me tell you that scared the hell out of me. We live in a 1920s home and the walls are made out of plaster and lath so it’s not like you can scratch a message in it with your fingernail. The message that was written on the wall was written with something red. No matter how many times my wife or I cleaned that wall the message always came back. Hell I even used an orbital sander on the wall and it still didn’t get rid of the message.

How long have you lived in this house? Has anyone knew moved in to your house?

We’ve lived there for over twelve years and never had a problem. We haven’t had any company or have anyone else living with us. But now that I think about it these weird people moved in next door just before all this started.

What do you mean by weird?

Strange things have been happening around the neighborhood. People have been getting sick, a lot of arguments, animals acting strangely and the god-awful smell of sulfur from the house next door. The family that lives on the other side of that house have lived there longer than we have. They started arguing a lot and ultimately the husband left. I got laid off shortly after the people moved in.

What do you mean by the animals acting strangely?

Our cat Tuffy, spends a lot of time outside, doesn’t like to be cooped up. Normally he likes nothing better than to head out first thing in the morning and come back in right before it gets dark. That’s been his usual routine since we’ve had him. Since the new people moved in next door you can’t even get him to take a step outside. I open up the door for him to go outside and he just turns, looks at me with these wide frightened eyes and darts underneath the sideboard. I think he can feel there’s something not right about those people. We have a Chihuahua and all he seems to do anymore is hide beneath the bed. I’m telling you man, it’s not normal. There’s definitely something bad going on in that house.

Yes it does sound like you have a problem. But this is not a medical situation, it’s definitely a paranormal one. The burns on your body don’t need treatment, their pretty well healed but they’re going leave scars. Now if you want me to address the other things that have been happening to you then I need you to understand something. What I’m going to tell you is strictly off the record. Do you understand this?

Yeah, sure if you can help me I’m more than willing to listen.

The reason I know about these things is because I’m a psychic medium. I knew there was something dark affecting you even before I opened the door. I can sense when someone has been touched by the darkness and it fairly emanates from you. I am what most people call a light worker.

What’s a light worker?

A light worker is someone who has been given special gifts by God. We use these gifts to help heal people, fight the darkness and help souls find their way into the light.

So what do you think is going on next door? I know it’s nothing good that’s for sure.

It sounds like there are two possibilities. The first is that one of the people could have a demon attachment. They may or may not know about the attachment. Although I don’t see how they could not know about it! The second thing it could be is someone could be dabbling in the dark arts, and by that I mean trying to conjure demons.

You know, I wondered about that but was hoping I was wrong. Any way you look at it, it’s not a good situation. So do you think you’ll be able to help me?
