- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Excellent character development and intriguing story. This is a wonderful coming of age story set in a time where innocence was cherished and times were simple. This is my second book to read from Claudette Carrisa Jeffery. This is an excellent follow-up but is entirely well developed and complete and can be read entirely on its own without the previous offering. Though if you are up for another good one check it out!Jeffery lends an authentic voice to her characters, telling an honest and her felt story of Claudette that is engaging and pleasing to the senses. There was never amount of disconnection as I was captured from page one and it carried me gracefully all the way to the end. A delightful read by any standard. A 5 star read without a doubt.
