About this ebook

The first story takes place during the year 1872, in the early days of Petaluma. The main character is a six-year old boy named Lloyd, who is growing up on his family ranch.

The second story occurs during the 1940's, at the start of World War II. The main characters are a couple who build their dream home on the property after getting the land for an amazing price. George and Betty will go to any length to prove their love for each other.

The third story happens in 2003, after decades of the land being passively owned by a corporation. The executives that run the corporation leave this land vacant on purpose and only have a caretaker on site to call in the law on trespassers. A group of teenagers get into more trouble than they bargain for.

I am a simple guy dealing with some complicated issues.I believe there should be no compromise when it comes to the Bill of Rights. People are supposed to be the focal point of our Republic.I now utilize the tenth amendment to state that the U.S. Government is unfit to remain in authority or represent justice. Per the tenth amendment, the will of the people is to come before anything to include special interest groups and political parties. We all have the right to have a government that represents us. This government clearly and openly does not.Every rights violation committed either by someone or something to include governments, is an act of war. There are many ways to attack others without the use of violence. I have been through and continue to endure that relentless experience myself. Such violations are often protected by law even though they are outside the purpose of government to begin with.Perception: Govt. is doing it's job taking care of disabled veterans.Reality: Veteran suicides at epidemic levels because so many being left without.Perception: EPA protects the environment and cares about our safety. If they say the water is safe to drink, it must be.Reality: Fracking is causing earthquakes and the people who consume the post processed water they are told is safe to drink, face severe physical health effects.Perception: If the government tells someone's family they committed suicide in jail, it must always be the truth.Reality: Sometimes someone paid someone else who could create the opportunity to kill the victim who is believed to have taken their own life. People use the government in this fashion to get away with murder all the time. No one looks for a killer when everyone thinks the victim did it to themselves. Easily, one of the cruelest and unjust forms of social selection.Perception: Money acting as free speech helps entrepreneurs advertise.Reality: Money unconstitutionally acting as a "legal" form of free speech is effectively silencing the voices of common people within both the advertising markets and the government.Perception: If the U.S. Govt. came into contact with E.T.s, they would tell the public about it. They have to, why wouldn't they? Reality: U.S. Govt has been aware of other advanced life for over 70 years. It was decided that such information would be kept classified and secret before Admiral Byrd could even return from the Antarctic Expedition known as Operation: High Jump. Around that time was when what was our once Constitutional Republic, first became compromised.

    Foreword:

This story is completely fictional although it borrows elements from events that may have actually occurred. Haystack Landing is a real place on the outskirts Petaluma, CA and I have been there.

    July 1872

Lloyd wakes up early with the sun. The majority of people around Petaluma are farmers and ranchers who work around the hours of the day. Lloyd going to be turning seven in two weeks. He comes from a simple family with hard work ethics.

Hey, Ma has breakfast made already. Jack pops the door open and says after sticking his head in.

Okay. Lloyd replies throwing up his blankets and jumping out of bed. He quietly follows his brother out the door and down the hall of their one story home.

Good morning, Lloyd. his mother greets him warmly. She has his plate of eggs and toast on the table waiting for him. Any longer and your food would be cold.

Thanks, Ma. Lloyd tells him Mom with little appreciation in his voice.

I been letting you get spoiled too much, I think she complains to him taking mental note of his ungratefulness.

I have no idea what you are talking about. I do not even get to sleep in like many of the other kids in school do. Lloyd replies looking over to his brother for a little peer support, but finds none. Jack walks through the front door avoiding eye contact and goes outside to take care of his daily chores.

There is more to life than wasting it away sleeping through the day. she says down to him as she watches him take his first bites. At this point in life, Lloyd is wise enough to know not to address his mother in a rude manner so he keeps quiet.

Lloyd knows his folks are a little more strict than most. Some of his friends make fun of him for it. He does not always get to go with them to play. It really upsets him but he does not display his emotion in front of his parents for fear of being punished. This day in age, parents regularly kept their children in check with some sort of vice. Lloyd's parents favor the Holy Bible but have turned to other items on occasion.

If we are going to hit you with anything, it might as well be the word of the Lord. Lloyd remembers his mother's words wondering to himself why life is this way as he eats through his meal.

Lloyd is the youngest of two boys. His father makes a living working on the trade boats that go up and down the Petaluma River. Most of the time his work is done within the day but sometimes there will be mechanical issues. Whenever anything goes wrong, it causes enough problems that it some times takes a couple of days to return.

Did Pa come home last night? Lloyd asks his mother pausing about halfway through his food.

No, but you know how it goes. she replies to her son. Make sure you are on your best behavior, you know how he is after these long shifts.

I know. Lloyd says assuring her with a nod.

Now hurry up and finish. She tells him as he sets down his fork. He looks up at her blankly as he drinks some
