HIDDEN ARRANGEMENTS
Chapter 1
As he walked along the city street, Mike felt nervous. It had been over five years since he had been for a job interview and although he was confident that he knew all the technical aspects, he wasn’t sure how he would present to those interviewing him and if he could answer all the questions he was sure to be asked. It was for a Government Department and he had never worked in the Public Sector arena before.
Still, if he blew it, it wouldn’t be the end of the world. In truth, he didn’t need to work from a financial aspect but he wanted to work, that was the key point. It had been five months since his wife Christina had passed away, finally succumbing to cancer that had been eating away at her for two years. He had stopped working a month before she had died so that he could be by her side and to comfort her during those last days.
There had been several offers of work, all in a contract position, the same as this one was, but he had not been mentally ready.
