Kira Lee Scott

For the sake of conversation, you may call me Kira. That's a pen name obviously. I use it to maintain my anonymity and because my real name is embarrassing, a result of my mother reading one too many bodice rippers during pregnancy. It could have been worse, I have an older brother named Fabio which proves once again that sometimes reality is far more bizarre than anything I could make up.I'm never going to model cloths on a runway because...1: I tend to wander up and down between a size eight and ten depending on the time of month and my access to dark chocolate peanut M&Ms, and...2: Red heads with big boobs don't seem to be very popular with gay clothing designers right now.3: I'd be a hooker before I'd be a model. Seriously, I feel like at least a prostitute provides a valuable service for the money. To me, the young women of high fashion are merely self-contained reality shows where you get to watch them self-destruct on misplaced adulation, criticism and calories. Being a runway modelbot would just be too humiliating to me.I own three pairs of shoes if you count my galoshes and flip-flops and my foul weather gear is the most expensive item in my hanging locker. Also, I live alone aboard my 29 foot sail boat, the S/V Noneyabidniz. She and I just left Florida heading north on the ICW and hope to complete the Great Loop sometime in the next when the hell ever. Not in any hurry, I plan on smelling a lot of seaweed along the way.As to what exactly brought on my fascination with the Zoo lifestyle? Who knows for certain? It's often blamed on past trauma, particularly as a child, but as far as I know, I have never been poked, prodded, fondled or violated by anyone except when I encouraged it. We were a large family with several dogs and a string of cats but the idea of having sex with one of them never occurred to me till I was in my early twenties and living with Bobby, my college sweetheart. It was his fantasy and his boxer/lab mix (Hondo wasn't a pretty animal, but he had a heart of gold) that started me down this road.So if peering through the window of my mind hasn't scared you off yet, why not step inside and have a seat where the couch is soft and the beer is always cold. You can watch my fantasies unfold, but be forewarned; some things cannot be unseen and given time, they can take root, and grow...PS; Where ever you are Hondo, I still miss you...PPS; Please, if you download this series in whole or in part, don't forget to leave me feedback even if you didn't like something about it. As you can imagine, this subject matter makes it difficult to locate like minded editors or even proofreaders. I desperately need your feedback in order to improve my writing. Also, try to keep it civil as well as constructive. The fact that you think I'm a sick, twisted animal abusing prevert says as much or more about your lifestyle and fantasies as it doe's about mine.UPDATE; I seem to have picked up a hitch hiker while broke down in Savannah. He knows of and endorses my erotic leanings. Also, he has a basic understanding of diesel engines and electrical systems making him indispensable in my eyes. The fact that he's hung like a Tazmanian water buffalo has very little to do with why I shanghaied his ass...

Holy smoke! I wasn't expecting a story that was this well developed tbh. Some parts would work fine as a stroke piece, but there ended up being WAY more to than usual. Would love to meet the aurthor and find out where she got her ideas from. Thanks for a great read.

Chapter 1—August 17, 2026: Zeke

He swam up from the dark and floated in a sea of white.

Her name filled his mind, there was nothing else. No pain. No memory. Only Lake.

His lips quivered with the effort to form her name—he had no voice, only a dry husk. Dry. His mouth was a desert, his tongue a writhing sandworm, Lake was his sustenance. His water. He was dust without her. Nothing.

Then he was falling away from the dry penetrating light and was immersed in memory and Lake was once again by his side.

I’m going. There’s nothing else to say. Lake said casually over her shoulder as she cleared away the dinner plates. She used one free hand to flip a stream of jet black hair over her shoulder.

That’s her tell, Zeke thought. She’s worried about something.

Lake, baby, it’s just payback. Mind you, it’s a brilliant payback but you don’t need to have my back for this one. I’ve got the guys. Zeke reached out to grab her around the waist as she moved past him to the kitchen.

Her steel blue eyes met his unflinchingly as she stood over him. Knowing a lost cause when he was about to be smacked over the head by one, he capitulated the discussion. He wasn't sure why he was arguing in the first place, now that he thought about it.

Okay, okay—it’ll be even better with you there. He murmured as he buried his face in her t-shirt and avoided that look in her eyes that said she was glad he had finally managed to come to his senses.

It’ll be nice to have you for company instead of Lorenzo. That guy is a one man methane factory. We’ll take the Excursion and the others can follow in the transporter. Now that the discussion was over, Zeke’s mind turned to more important things as he casually began to search for a nipple through the thin cotton of her t-shirt.

Pulling back from his embrace, her laughing eyes once more dancing, she asked, Sure you don’t want to save your energy big boy? It’s a long drive to Laredo.

Pulling her close again, he laughed.

I have lots of get up and go sweetheart, he quipped. Besides, you’re driving halfway.

*****

He couldn’t grasp anymore of the dreams; they slipped through his fingers like water. Like Lake had. All he knew was she was there when she shouldn’t have been. Now she was gone. He needed to get—up. He was pinned to the bed by what felt like a truck sized boulder. He could vaguely make out tubes and wires going God knows where, doing inexplicable things. Never had he felt so helpless—a mewling newborn pup. Lying there gasping to get his breath; his eyes refused to stop searching the room for her. He fought to keep his eyelids open like a prize fighter but succumbed to the pain and drugs—flashes of the nightmare he had survived played behind them.

*****

Dig dammit, keep going—almost there—the crackly hiss of static coming from his earpiece was a disquieting irritant, an annoying gnat buzzing around just inside his ear and it was a constant reminder that his call for help may not have reached the backup team. This wasn’t Syria—it was the fucking Republic of Texas for God’s sake!

Don’t let her die on me.

The pain was beginning to ratchet up now that the initial stun of the RPG impact was wearing off. It was starting to feel like he was sitting on a hotplate, complete with the smell of scorched meat. He understood that even though the searing blast of the rocket propelled grenade had cauterized the massive wound he’d suffered, his time was about up and only the surge of raw adrenalin was keeping him moving. That was okay—he refused to die before he made it to Lake.

Hang on baby—almost there. He could see her or more accurately her hand. She was buried under the passenger seat and door from the Excursion they’d both been blown out of. Before he died, he’d give anything to see that hand move, even if it was just a twitch to let him know his wife was still alive.

I’m coming baby—just hang on.

Behind him, he could hear the sound of boots scrambling to reach him while ahead he heard the sound of full auto gun fire start up. It shredded the low lying scrub around him and was rapidly zeroing in on his position

Ignore it—keep crawling soldier!

Twice he heard the wheet of bullets passing like angry hornets. Then blinding pain. Molten agony seared him from his forehead to back above his ear. Stunned, he cried out once from the pain and the anger of feeling he had utterly failed her.

As his vision faded to black, he felt hands grab him under his arms and begin to drag him back towards the fence line. He struggled desperately with his rescuers but for the first time in his memory he was no match for his adversaries.

We gotcha Boss— Zeke heard as if coming from miles and years away. We gotcha.

*****

Zeke lurched to consciousness this time gasping and struggling with twisted bed sheets and the medical paraphernalia keeping his body alive. Instantly there was a soft but firm hand on his chest and arm pushing him gently back into the pillows.

You’re safe. Zeke stop fighting, you’ll only hurt yourself more, said a woman’s voice.

The adrenaline from his nightmare evaporated and he collapsed limp and sweating. The cool and efficient hand moved from his chest to
