- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I stumbled across this book on the new book shelf at the library and knew that I had to pick it up. It's more of a coffee table book than one which you would read from cover to cover. It is filled with delightful foods from different countries around the world. There are several "top ten" lists scattered thoughout the book such as the top ten cheese tours of France, the top ten Saint's Feasts Days (as celebrated in various places around the world), and the top ten kitchen gardens. It's a delightful and well-illustrated book that is sure to please any foodie who enjoys traveling or any traveler who enjoys eating. While I've sampled the offerings at only a fraction of the places mentioned, it was fun to see some and say, "I've been there."
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I purchased this book on sale for $26.00 and what a bargain! Beautiful pictures (it is Nat Geo after all), useful travel tips, lists of online resources for further research, tasty recipes and detailed descriptions of exotic foods and locations. If you love food and/or travel, you want this book. It's both a delight and a useful reference.
