Heavy Metal: Rock 'n' Roll Poetry
()
About this ebook
Over 10,000 words of poetry inspired by heavy metal and rock 'n' roll music and presented as lyrics. This collection of rock 'n' roll themed poetry touches on subject matter that has fueled many a classic rock or metal song. Topics such as politics, the drinking and drugging lifestyle, suicide, the apocalypse, lost love, anger and many more themes and narratives fill this book of poetry.
We all have music inside our heads and we are all capable of being poets. This book is many years in the making and captures everything that is best about the scene that I grew up in - the late 80's and early 90's metal scene.

Heavy Metal - Jeremy D. Hill
Where The Pain Don't Show
She disappears now and again
And she makes her way down
To that place we all keep inside
The place where we all drown
She slips into it like a second skin
And once again she's gone
No reason to stay here in our world
When she's all alone
And the needle
Is the home she knows
When times are hard
It's the place she goes
Deep down and low
Where the pain don't show
She's surrounded by it
Everywhere she looks
She can't seem to get away
Disappear for another day
Take a bottle of pills
And numb the wound
It's her future she kills
And it's all too soon
And the needle
Is the home she knows
When times are hard
It's the place she goes
Deep down and low
Where the pain don't show
Some people are busy living
While others are born dying
No excuses and no forgiving
You can't quit unless you’re trying
She takes it all in stride
Burns another hole inside
Nothing left, not even pride
Doesn't realize she died
And the needle
Is the home she knows
When times are hard
It's the place she goes
Deep down and low
Where the pain don't show
When The Ship Starts To Sink
No one believes in life ever after
And the proof is in their laughter
It's a misery mile
A day of tragedy
We're all in denial
Of the one true remedy
The blood has been shed
And no mercy is ahead
Trapped in this world
Life can be so absurd
The things we must inspire
Have been cast in the fire
We are our own religion
And our creations are undone
No one is listening
No one ever stops to think
Death is not the answer
When the ship starts to sink
The hell of one is the heaven of another
The death of the son is the envy of the mother
A new nation of greed
That the people can't see
The wounds start to bleed
But we just let them be
See Me Hateful
I want to feel something
I want to have someone
Put the coals to me
Set me free
Watch the flesh turn gray
I'll stay till I'm ash
Burn the pain away
And erase the past
All my life
I never followed the rules
All my life
I'd tightened the noose
Let me down, let me down
I'll be faithful
Burn me down, burn me down
See me hateful
It's tearing me again
For the end I'd be grateful
All the love in the world
Can't undo the hate I feel
All the words I've ever heard
Can't make me feel like it's real
I want all that is yours
I want all that is mine
Everything and nothing at once
You know my kind
Let me down, let me down
I'll be faithful
Burn me down, burn me down
See me hateful
Looking Out For You
I walk toward a stranger
That I call your name
I walk forward to danger
And play the same old game
Don't say a word
Don't let it be heard
It will never be the same
Looking out for number one
Is kind of hard to do
When I have to keep looking out for you
I can't stand to see you go
And I'd love for you to know
I'm looking out for you
One more night alone
One more chance to pray
One mistake and you're gone
In these games that we play
I won't try to be myself
Or act like somebody
