    Standing in the tunnel the darkness surrounded me. I turned around to look at the light gleaming behind me from the entry. The light was comforting.  I knew I had to go into the dark. With a shiver I began sloshing through the 2 inches of water, away from the light.  I could barely feel the wetness as my brain was about to go crazy. My mind was rambling, so full of adrenaline.  I wished that I had eaten more carrots so I could see better in the darkness.

    I have to focus; I have to put one foot ahead of the other and move as quietly as possible. I could just make out the slight shadows of light that danced on the sides of the tunnel. The light was coming from the tiny penlight that David was using to light our way.  My eyes focused on that little bit of light and the dark shadow of David's back in front of me. Somehow they were comforting; somehow I could get through this.

    David stopped, and I bumped against his back.  I could tell he was listening, and I was listening, for any sound that we could grab.
