    and know that there was something special, something that you needed to explore, something that would change your life? That you just had to meet this person because it was destiny?

    I’m not talking about forever romance. I’m talking about something so red hot that it could not survive for long. Humans can do amazing things but they cannot live at high decibel for very long. It is exhausting.

    But then, they cannot live at low decibel for very long either. It is just plain boring.

    Let me tell you how bored I was when I saw the photo that changed my life. I was in a dentist’s office. Waiting to get my teeth cleaned. That is what my life had come to. All the mundane details of my life were in order. There was nothing left on the to-do list except have a dental checkup.

    So there I was, sitting in the dentist’s office, flipping through the old magazines when I saw him. The man of my dreams. I think it was People that I was reading when I saw him. It was an article on whiz kids. I’m not explaining it right. It was about people who had been whiz kids and where they are now.

    This guy was into technology and made a mint in the dot-com world sometime in the nineties. I have to admit that for me technology
