THEY WERE already kissing when January fumbled the door open. They fell against it, their mouths melting together, their tongues exploring.

She had wondered since she first laid eyes on Ash what it would be like to kiss him, and the reality was so much sweeter than she could have dreamed.

DID YOU get any idea of where she is? Agent Sterling was pacing back and forth in front of the living room sofa, where January was seated with a cup of hot tea. It was the first time she had seen him excited about anything.

January shook her head. No. It took everything I had just to get through to her. She wouldn't appear to me; that's how I knew something was different.
