Chapter 8
Hazee
Hazee left the bloody chaotic scene with a Louis Vuitton duffle bag filled with money, a wound on her arm where it had been grazed, and holding onto the steering wheel as she peeled off. She had to ditch the police car, because she knew the cops would be all over her ass. Tears formed in her eyes as she thought about her dead sister Hazel, whom she had left behind. Hazee sniffled as she blinked the tears obscuring her vision, causing her view of the road to be blurry.
Hazee never thought she would be the killer type, but she had just killed two cops and left them lying dead in the middle of a parking lot. Hazee hoped no one really noticed her driving the cop car, because for one, she had no police uniform on and she looked young as hell driving, and secondly, Hazee didn’t even have her license. She had never even obtained her permit.
Hazee slowly pressed on the brakes as she slowed down at the red light. She tapped her fingers on the steering wheel, anxiously waiting for the light to turn. She looked left to right and noticed a Boston Police cruiser parked right next to her.
Oh shit!
she mumbled. She looked away as she noticed the two cops - one black and one Caucasian male - coming out of the Dunkin Doughnuts. The window was slightly ajar, and she had heard one of the dispatchers on the radio talking about a stolen police cruiser, also stating what happened at the two different locations, and they were given the description of Hazee. Hazee discreetly looked over at the officers, feeling like everything was in slow motion.
The black officer dropped his hot coffee on the ground as the white officer said, That’s her!
He drew his gun and pointed it at the car. Step out of the fucking car or I will shoot you!
Hazee bit down on the bottom of her lip. She looked away and noticed a huge truck coming down the street. Her light was still red. She placed her foot on the accelerator and floored it. Within seconds, she was dodging bullets, which hit the windows on the car, instantly shattering it into pieces. The truck was beeping its horn as she ran through the red light. She looked in her rearview mirror and saw both of the cops jumping in the cruiser they shared. They threw on their lights and chased after her. Luckily, the cops were blocked off by the tractor trailer. She had enough time to turn down a few side streets and get away. But she still threw on the sirens and dipped in and out of lanes as she made her way through the crowded streets of Boston.
Hazee quickly looked around for an alley. She knew her streets like the back of her hand. She pulled into an alley and quickly got out of the car, reached over and grabbed the duffle bag, and kept it moving. She turned on the street and looked for the nearest convenient store, which was on the corner. She picked up her pace, trying not to draw too much attention to herself. Little did she know that as soon as she got into the store, all eyes were on her, making her forget what she had come in the store for.
What the fuck are you looking at?
Hazee barked as she stared at a teenage school girl in uniform, looking her up and down as she was grilling her.
You’re bleeding,
she spoke softly as she rolled her eyes. She turned around and her bag swung to the side as she walked out of the store.
Oh shit!
Hazee mumbled as she quickly remembered that she had been shot. It was a tiny graze wound that she had, but it was still causing her so much pain. She looked down at her white shirt, which was drenched with blood on the sleeves. She quickly turned around and ran out of the store. She ran down the street and into a clothing store. She dropped her bag on the floor, grabbed a black jacket from the sales floor, and placed it on, covering herself up. After carefully putting on the jacket, she grabbed a few other items and stuffed them on the side of the duffle bag in another pocket. She grabbed the bag and threw it over her shoulder and then exited the store without getting caught stealing.
There were sirens in the distance, but not close enough to where Hazee was located. She rushed back to the alley and decided to drive to the hospital. The more she moved, the more pain she endured, and she started to feel dizzy. She made her way into the alley where the police cruiser was parked and untouched. She moaned as she opened the car door and threw the duffle bag on the passenger seat. She backed out of the alley and threw on the sirens, dipping in and out of lanes, trying to reach the hospital.
Hazee’s arm was hurting her so badly, and she kept swerving from the pain that was constantly throbbing in her upper arm. She could feel the blood soaking up her shirt, making her hotter than she already was, and to top it off, the jacket she had just stolen wasn’t doing her any justice. Hazee saw the hospital from a distance.
